If you did not know what was happening in the image, you would think that the baby was drowning. Most people use swimming as a way to relax, but knowing how to swim can also save your life. One mother made sure that her children knew how to swim to make sure that they would never drown.

A Baby Learns to Swim

Grace Fanelli taught both of her daughters to swim when they were extremely young. As a mom in Florida, she knew that swimming pools and the ocean were all around. Her children needed to be able to swim to make sure that they never died from accidentally falling in the water.

While most infants learn to walk at nine months, Grace's daughters were already learning how to swim. Her oldest daughter is only three-years-old now. Meanwhile, the youngest daughter is only two-years-old. Both of the girls swim like mermaids when they jump in the water.

In this adorable video, you can see that the hard work really paid off. The tiny baby swims with her arms and her legs like she was born in the pool. She does not seem to have any fear of the water.

The proud mother shared the video online to raise awareness about drowning deaths. For infants and small children, drowning is the leading cause of death. While it takes a few more months to learn how to walk, children can actually learn to swim when they are only six months old. By teaching your child to swim, you could save their life.

Grace's children learned to swim from their instructor, Brigitte Strickland. Brigitte teaches a course for infant and child survival. Grace's youngest daughter ended up becoming the best swimmer her age. Other than being a lot of fun, her new hobby has also left her with increased strength and independence.

Spread the word so that all of your friends know this easy way to prevent drowning deaths.
