Worry And Concern As Masked Intruders Break Into Windsor Castle After ‘Bad Breach In Security’

Just after The Sun revealed that there were no more armed police at the two main public entrances of Windsor Castle, frightening details of a break-in have emerged. It is reported that two men broke into the castle while the Prince and Princess of Wales slept in a nearby cottage. King Charles and Queen Camilla were not in residence at the time.  There was some damage caused to the property, including the theft of multiple vehicles from Shaw Farm, a farm located on the royal estate. They also destroyed one of the security gates while they were fleeing away from the scene in one of the stolen trucks and a quad bike.  

A security breach of this magnitude, especially on such a presumably secure property could not have just happened on a whim. This leads many to assume that this was a carefully orchestrated act. According to a source:

“They must have been watching Windsor Castle for a while.”

This is a matter of concern for William and Catherine, as their cottage is just five minutes away from the scene of the theft, and they have been seen to be using the wrecked exit as it is close to their beloved home, Adelaide Cottage. While it is a relief that they were not harmed and the intruders were just aiming for theft, it is still somewhat concerning as no arrests have yet been made in connection with the incident. Additionally, there has been no statement issued from any of the royals. 

Unsurprisingly, this incident has raised eyebrows over just how secure royal residences are, in comparison to how they should be. With regard to Windsor Castle, there are security guards that patrol around the property, but in light of the recent break in, perhaps there should be more security - an issue the royal family must be looking into at this point. This isn’t the first time an intruder has managed to scale the fence and breach security at Windsor Castle. An incident occurred in 2021 where an intruder intending to assassinate Queen Elizabeth II broke in with a crossbow. Fortunately, he was apprehended by the police before he could carry out his nefarious mission and was subsequently sentenced to nine years in prison. 

Revealing more details around the shocking event, a source said:

“It was a Sunday night on a school week so the young princes and princess would have been tucked in bed at Adelaide Cottage, just around the corner but still in the grounds.”

While it is a relief that no harm was caused to any person, there are now rising concerns over the security breach and how to solve it. Security was alerted of the breach of the security barrier later than desirable, as explained by the source:

“There are alarms at Windsor Castle but the first time anyone knew there was a break-in was when they crashed through the security barrier at Shaw Farm Gate exit…The barrier has needed to be replaced as it was so badly damaged.”

Understandably, William and Kate are “very concerned” and hope this does not happen again.
