Many families own dogs as pets because they provide much-needed companionship. However, there are heartless pet owners who do not know how to care for their dogs. They mistreat them, which means the dogs sometimes run away.
Their only hope for survival is to be located by a good Samaritan. Such was the case of the puppy we talk about in this article. The good Samaritan who rescued Varya was headed to work early in the morning when she noticed a helpless puppy lying in a puddle. Shocked that the owner was not around, she picked her up thinking that she was dead.
That is when she noticed through a slight twitch of the front paw that the puppy was alive. She immediately called for help and the volunteers who were nearby rushed to her aid. Together, they rushed the puppy to a nearby clinic seeking much needed medical attention.

The injuries were dire
The results of the hospital were devastating. According to Paw Rescue, Doctors said the puppy had suffered multiple injuries in the head and a fracture in the leg, something that indicated the poor pup could have possibly suffered an accident before she was found.
They had to initiate a speedy transfer to a bigger hospital where the needed surgery to salvage her life could be done. She was stabilized by being injected with IV fluids, antibiotics, and other fluids before the operation began.
The strong puppy survived
The puppy held up well during the two-and-a-half-hour surgery where the doctors succeeded in fixing the injuries on her bone. Although the head injury was too risky to treat, doctors said that since it was not life-threatening, the strong puppy would heal with time.
In three months, Varya' s condition had greatly improved and she showed signs of a full recovery. She had the woman who saved her from the streets and the doctors who put in a lot of work to thank for saving her life.
Varya now has a new home
Later on, she got clearance from the hospital and moved into her new owner's home. The first days were tough on her causing her to stop eating for two days. She later adapted to the new environment and now lives the life every dog deserves.
Varya's amazing recovery story inspires us to observe proper care for our pets. The animals deserve a chance at a decent life with a place they can call home. We are also encouraged to extend a helping hand to helpless animals anytime we meet them in the streets. Taking a simple action like the woman who took Varya in did can mean the world to a lost pet or dog.
