As is the case with most brides, Amanda had selected her wedding gown well before her wedding date. The bride-to-be and her best friend walked into The Way We Wore, a popular vintage clothing store in Los Angeles. This store carries everything from sportswear and everyday fashions to evening apparel, accessories, and even wedding gowns from several eras. When Amanda explained her situation to the store’s helpful staff members, Nikki and Angelica, they immediately jumped into action. These two women were thrilled to face the challenge and immediately had a few ideas in mind.

Amanda was overwhelmed by stress as the sales staff led her to the right section of the store. Despite her obvious anxiety, the sales staff remained hopeful that they could get her into a dress that was perfect for her. While the store had several shorter dresses that may have worked, Amanda’s heart was set on a longer gown.

The store only had two longer gowns that would meet her needs and that were the right size. One was a satin ballgown from the 1950s that fit her beautifully. The other was a stunning chiffon and silk gown with eye-catching floral embroidery. Amanda fell in love with both dresses equally. Rather than having no dress to wear on her wedding day, Amanda was faced with the challenge of deciding which of the two dresses she loved more.
