Woman Criticized For Asking For Men’s Bank Account Information On First Date So She Can ‘Date A Wealthy Guy’
Sep 07, 2023
Dating experiences for people are subjective as some have good stories to share, while others have the complete opposite, but it all boils down to intentions on whether a person wants to settle down for good or just go out for fun.
One woman in particular shared her experience about the thing she asks for men on the first date, but not all social media users agreed with her standards.
Sofia Franklyn, popularly known for being Alex Cooper’s former co-host on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, established her own podcast titled “Sofia With An F.”
In one episode posted in August 2023, the host and her guest, Leo Skepi, opened up about first-date etiquette.
In a video clip shared on her TikTok account, the host revealed that she asked for the bank account information of the last three men she dated.
In the episode shared on YouTube, Franklyn said she met a man, who was younger than her, a month prior in which she took a screenshot of his bank account balance and then sent it to herself.
She later showed the image to Skepi. Although the exact amount of money was not shown on camera, it appears that the man she dated had a lot of money.
Franklyn then asked her podcast guest if what she did was “crazy” or not, to which he replied, “I don’t judge people’s actions, I look at the intention behind it.”
The host explained that the reason why she did that was because she "only wants to date a wealthy guy that has money.”

Franklyn further noted that although she has a job and is successful on her own, she thinks she has every right to ask a man regarding their finances:
"I think I have every f***ing right to be like, ‘Hi, are we on the same level or am I wasting my time?’"
Franklyn later clarified that if a man doesn’t show her the bank account on the first date, she would still date them for a second or third time, but she needs to know at a certain point.
After the video went viral on TikTok, internet users were divided on whether the podcast host’s standards were correct or not.
“Not sure love comes in the form of a dollar bill but at least ur straight forward,” one wrote.
Another one noted that Franklyn is successful herself and wondered why she needed to know how much a man makes.
“You have tons of money, why does it matter what he makes?” one commented.
One person seemed to have the same experience as they also did the same thing, as they wrote, “I agree with her I’ve done that. I live the life I want now 😇"
“Absolutely 300% agree! You deserve to have a man on the same level as you!” another one expressed.
A user questioned whether what Franklyn did was legal at all, “wait isn't it illegal to ask someone for their banking information.”
One user appeared to disagree with the host as they commented, “Once you stop looking outside of YOURSELF for love, fulfillment, wealth, success…. You will realize it doesn’t matter WHAT that person.”
Another commenter agreed as they noted, “This is why the majority of marriage ends in divorce. Love has nothing to do with money, it's a connection that's so deep, you support each other.”
