Vlogger Mom Is Applauded For 'Saving Lives,' With Her Funny Messy House Tours

Aug 08, 2021

Social media is great for staying connected with friends and loved ones, but sometimes it can make us feel like our lives need to be picture perfect all of the time. This adds unneeded stress and pressure onto people, especially moms who think that they need to live up to the expectations that social media can set.

Emily Feret, who goes by the username @emilyjeanne333 on TikTok, has been inspiring other moms with her hilarious house tours that show off her chaotic home. Feret starts off most of her videos by saying, "I like to normalize being normal So let me walk around my home and make you feel better about yours!" This attitude is helping other parents who struggle with the stress of trying to do it all and maintain a tidy home.

In order to show off just how disorganized and relatable her home is, Ferret says in the video, "Of these four (remotes), only one works! This one’s missing the battery, and this one’s missing the back altogether ... And the one that works, I lose daily!" Her carefree attitude and positivity are so refreshing and give a much-needed reality check for people who want to seem perfect online all of the time.

Other moms are saying that Feret’s videos don’t just make them laugh, but also help them feel less alone when they don’t relate to the typical motherhood content found on social media these days. Some fans have even said that the TikTok user is saving lives with her content by helping others feel normal. Keep reading to learn more about Feret and the response to her videos.

Feret's videos began out of her own desire to feel normal. "I was watching all these videos and seeing all these pictures on social media of these picture-perfect houses and 'filtered lives' and it was making me feel bad about my life," Feret tells Parents. "I was not seeing any houses or moms that looked like me and my life. I wanted to show how my life is not at all like that and that you can be 'normal' and be doing a wonderful job even if your house is a mess and your kids are driving you crazy."

Feret told Parents that the feedback she's gotten from her videos has been life-changing. She said, "The response has been overwhelming and emotional. I have had childhood heroes commenting on my videos, gifts sent to me, and people messaging me, every day thanking me for helping them. All I have ever wanted was to help other people and it is surreal that these videos of me walking around my house have had such an impact on others."

Helping people is definitely what Feret is doing, and her viewers are sharing their feelings in the comments. "Is it wrong that you're my mentor in life?" one mother wrote on one of Feret's videos.

The relatability of Feret's content is making a real difference in other people's lives. "You are absolutely the most amazing inspirational woman," wrote another person. "Thank you for making us not feel alone."

Someone else commented, "I've never related to someone so much in my entire life. Can we be mom friends?"
