Unchained Melody became a hit back in 1965, although it really gained popularity after it was played in the Blockbuster movie, Ghost. Since then, people all over the world have loved to hear the haunting sounds of this beautiful song sung by The Righteous Brothers.
The Righteous Brothers started out in 1962 as part of a larger group known as the Paramours. Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield later detached from the Paramours to pursue their musical interests and formed The Righteous Brothers.
The pair are the most notable singers of Unchained Melody. It became a hit back in 1965 but really gained popularity after it was heard in the Blockbuster movie, Ghost. Since then, people all over the world have loved to hear the haunting sounds of this beautiful song. There are now more than 1,500 different versions and it’s been covered by more than 670 different notable artists across the world.

After Righteous Brothers co-founder Bobby Hatfield’s death in 2003, Bill Medley continued to play shows solo, until he found Bucky Heard to help recreate the authentic Righteous Brothers sound.
