Unappreciated Wife Stops Doing Chores After Her Husband Claims She Does 'Nothing'
Jun 12, 2023
Full-time housewives have existed for centuries, ensuring that the home and family are well taken care of. Many will agree that without housewives or the professionals who step in to take on such roles in the absence of one, the home will quickly fall apart. Housewives do many things, including cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, and overall household maintenance.
In the past, being a housewife was the only thing a woman could dream of, but it often meant doing a lot of work for little or no recognition. The 16th-century housewife, in particular, needed to be the family's maid, doctor, gardener and scientist to be certified as a good wife. It is for this reason, plus the fear of less-than-ideal situations with their spouses, that many modern women often want to avoid being full-time housewives. Meanwhile, those who do chores generally agree that taking care of a house or people is energy intensive and can cause one to break down if care is not taken; hence, the clamor for recognition.
Housewives now demand respect and appreciation for what they consider to be invisible labor. A fed-up wife took this another notch when she decided to teach her spouse a lesson after he didn't appreciate her effort. On June 3, 2023, the Tiktoker named Lindsay shared a video of what her home looked like when she refused to clean up the mess since her husband said she didn't do anything around the house. Her video quickly garnered views and roused a hot debate about what she should do. Read on to find out what her home looked like and viewers' reactions to the events that followed.

On June 3, 2023, a Tiktoker with the username @lindsaydonnelly2 shared a clip on her page. In the clip, Lindsay, a mom of two, wrote, “My husband made a comment that I do nothing around the house. So for two days, I really did nothing around the house.” She further added a caption noting that she left the house for a girls' trip for two days.
Lindsay's camera quickly panned from her mischievous face to the house, which revealed a messed up kitchen strewn with used plates as well as bits of paper to a messed up dining and then living room which had clothes and gadgets all over the table and sofas. She also showed an overflowing laundry basket and a dirty bathroom.
The video quickly amassed millions of views and over 20,000 comments, with some responders urging her to get a divorce while others told her it would be a fruitless effort. The user @Frankly wrote, "It's sad you need to play his game. it still won't work. he'll pretend to not notice."
However, the woman's effort seemed to pay off as she and her husband soon sat down for another TikTok session, where she claimed that he apologized for making the comment.
"He agreed that was a real 💩 thing to say," she captioned the clip.
However, TikTok users who commented on the follow-up video felt something was off between the wife and her spouse. A user commented, "Why is she laughing like she’s going to be in trouble?" Meanwhile, another advised her to "run," saying they sensed "sinister vibes" from her husband. Other viewers also asked if the husband also apologized to her rather than to TikTok alone.
