Two Girls Asked Woman At Taylor Swift Concert To Take Their Photo But Didn't Find Out Until Later It Was Actress Sandra Oh
Sep 08, 2023
Imagine being at a Taylor Swift concert and asking a fellow fan for a quick photo, only to later discover you were chatting and asking a favor from a Hollywood superstar. Well, that's precisely what happened to TikTok user Neen during the Los Angeles stop of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour.
Neen, a dedicated Swiftie and avid TikToker, attended the concert in August 2023 with a friend. Excited to capture the moment, she approached a fellow Swift fan and asked her to take their picture together at the bottom of their section in the stadium. Little did Neen know that her seemingly ordinary request would lead to an extraordinary revelation.
As the "super nice" Swiftie began taking their photo, Neen couldn't help but notice her uncanny resemblance to Cristina Yang, a character from the long-running medical drama series "Grey's Anatomy." Initially, Neen dismissed it as a coincidence, but a lingering feeling persisted that the woman who took their photo was the actress Sandra Oh.
While best known for her work in "Grey's Anatomy," Oh is an award-winning actress for playing Eve Polastri in the BBC America thriller "Killing Eve." Born in Ontario, Canada in 1971, Oh is the daughter of immigrants from South Korea, who moved to Canada in the 1960s. Their family was one of the very few Asians in their community at that time.
Oh dabbled in acting at an early age in school and became active in drama and comedy clubs throughout her years as a student. Her parents wanted her to get a journalism degree, but she opted to study at the National Theatre School of Canada.
After college, Oh was cast in a string of Hollywood movies but she was first widely recognized for her work in the 1996 HBO comedy series "Arliss." In 2005, Oh embarked on her longest-running role to date when she did "Grey's Anatomy" and was part of the hit series for 10 seasons.
The medical drama was so popular that even Swift was once caught getting excited about meeting Oh during a Time 100 Gala event in 2019, per Page Six. Admittedly, Swift spent hours upon hours watching “Grey’s Anatomy” as she’s a huge fan.
"We didn't realize until she was taking our photo,” Neen explained on TikTok on Aug. 17, 2023. “And then we were way too scared to ask in case we were wrong.”
It wasn't until later that Neen and her friend made a shocking realization – they had unwittingly interacted with a famous star. The revelation came when Oh herself shared her picture enjoying the Eras concert on her Instagram Story.
"Confirmation we literally asked Sandra Oh to take our picture," Neen wrote as she recounted the remarkable encounter on TikTok.
Fans of both Swift and Oh were left astonished by the accidental celebrity encounter. Many were incredulous that the TikToker didn't immediately recognize the star in her midst.
"YOU MET SANDRA OH?? AND YOU LITERALLY DIDN'T EVEN KNOW OH MY GOD," one shocked fan wrote in the comments.
While Neen may have approached the situation differently, had she known for sure that she was speaking to a superstar, many fans believe Oh likely appreciated being treated normally. She may have also relished the opportunity to enjoy the concert as just another Swiftie.
