'This Morning' Audience In Tears As 9-Year-Old With Terminal Cancer Has Wish Granted During Show

A 9-year-old girl with terminal cancer has kept a positive outlook on life as she has continued to follow her dreams. Sophie Fairall has created a bucket list of everything she hopes to do in the upcoming months as she continues to battle her rare form of incurable cancer. Despite all of the challenges life has thrown her way, Sophie has kept a smile on her face and has even worked to help other children, too.
Sophie has stayed determined to not let her illness hold her back. While Sophie has already been able to tick off many of the boxes on her to-do list, there are still plenty that she wants to do. One of Sophie’s wishes was to visit the set of “This Morning,” a British daytime television show broadcast on ITV. Some of the current presenters on the show include Dermot O’Leary, Ruth Langsford, Eamonn Holmes and Holly Willoughby.
In July 2021, Sophie and her parents, Charlotte and Gareth, were given the chance to visit the show’s studio in person and even meet some of the presenters. Sophie’s favorite presenter from the show is Willoughby, and although she couldn’t be in the studio in person, Willoughby made a special virtual appearance just to see and speak with Sophie. The young girl also received a sweet present from the studio fit for a tiny princess.
Fans of the show were filled with emotions after hearing the adorable girl’s story. Even though Sophie has been met with plenty of obstacles in her life, she has continued to enjoy each moment she has while living out some of her wildest dreams.

Sophie has been living life to the fullest despite her cancer diagnosis and is currently working at accomplishing everything on her bucket list of special wishes. “There’s no cure for it now, but Sophie being Sophie wants to be positive,” Gareth explained. The parents also made the difficult decision to stop their daughter’s treatment, as it wasn’t really working.
Sophie had already done a lot; she had even met and cooked with famous chef Gordon Ramsay before getting the chance to visit the set of “This Morning.” “It’s smaller than I thought… I thought it was real windows,” Sophie explained during her appearance on the morning program. While visiting the “This Morning” set was something Sophie had always wanted to do, getting to meet her favorite presenter, Willoughby, was an even more special moment for the young girl.
Although Willoughby was not there in person, she gave Sophie a virtual hug and presented her with a gift of a pretty, sparkly tiara that she had worn during a Christmas special. Willoughby also gave the sweet girl the water bottle she had carried with her on the set of “I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here.”
While Sophie has been able to attend many events and meet some incredible people as she stays optimistic about her life, she has also worked to help others. While on “This Morning,” Sophie talked about her campaign to get better food in hospitals as part of her wish list. Many fans of the show were overcome with emotions as they watched the adorable young girl continue to spread hope and positivity while trying to make the world a better place.
