The Kellerman's Resort From 'Dirty Dancing' Hosts A 'Dirty Dancing' Themed Weekend Every Summer

Jul 26, 2019

Everyone knows about Baby and Johnny. The 1987 film "Dirty Dancing" is a classic summer romance that made audiences want to get up on their feet.

While you may not be able to dance like Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey did in the movie, you can at least take a trip to the same resort the family vacationed.

The Kellerman's Resort as it was called in the movie is an actual real-life resort you can go to, however, you won’t find it in Catskills, New York. The Mountain Lake Lodge (the film location's real name) is located in Pembroke, Virginia and open to fans that are eager to relive the movie.

The lodge says on its website,

"on select dates every summer, experience Mountain Lake Lodge's transformation back into Kellerman's Mountain House for a weekend. Walk in the same footsteps as Baby and Johnny for a weekend where we provide the ideal setting for you and your closest friends, family or someone special to have the time of your lives."

You’ll find scavenger hunts and a tour of movie locations, the lodge also holds a party and encourages guests to dress up as their favorite character from the movie. There are even private and group dance lessons available for those who are interested.
