‘The Facts of Life’ Star Nancy McKeon Still Looks Young At 53 And Has Two Teenage Daughters
Feb 18, 2020
Nancy McKeon, well-known due to her role as Jo Polniaczek in The Facts of Life, which ran for nine seasons, is now 53 and a mother of two. She has never looked better!
What some who didn't keep track of her busy career afterward might not know is she's still an active actress and about to appear in a new role for Amazon.
Nancy McKeon accidentally started her show-biz career as a toddler. Her older brother was auditioning for various roles in New York City, and one day their mother couldn’t find a babysitter, so she brought Nancy, a young toddler, along with them to the audition. An agent spotted the precocious pre-star, and she landed her first job at age two, modeling clothing for the Sears catalog and then embarked on a career starring in TV commercials, according to Metacritic.

Her brother, Philip, snagged a role in Alice, a TV sitcom, so the entire family moved to Los Angeles in 1976. She eventually started to get small roles in various TV shows and did some work as a voice talent for animated projects, her biography on IMDB mentions.
She got her first real break while making a commercial for Hallmarks. An agent was watching while she cried very realistically on cue during the shooting of the ad, Starttv reports. She was invited to audition for the second season of The Facts of Life and won the role of the rebellious tomboy Jo Polniaczek.
Although she has worked in the entertainment industry her entire life, playing many characters, that particular role is what has stuck in the minds of her fans, many of whom were struggling through adolescence themselves at the same time the show was on the air.
After The Facts of Life was canceled when she was 22, Mancy went on to star in other TV shows. She got married to Marc Andrus in 2003, says TVOM.
Nancy took some time off to be a full-time mother. The couple has two daughters, Aurora, age 15, and Harlow, 13.
She is currently working on filming a series for Amazon based on Lauren Olivier’s best-selling book. The series is called Panic and should be released soon, according to Deadline. Delighted fans are eagerly looking forward to seeing her again.
