No one likes to clean — least of all teenagers. Chances are that when you were a teenager, your room looked as if a tornado had passed through. So how do you get teens to clean their rooms? One mother named Alice, who was featured on a 2016 episode of the talk show The Doctors, got crafty and found a solution.

Parents everywhere are always trying to figure out how to get their children to obey them. They should take a cue from Alice Valasquez, who came up with the perfect plan to get her daughters to clean the room, as you'll see in the video below. All she did was confiscate her daughters' items. She charged them a fee to get them back. It happened when her children were at school. This was when she decided to take control.
Alice took all of her daughters' items and put them in trash bags while they were away. She didn't merely take their items; she took pictures, and she posted them to social media, announcing that she would be charging $25 per trash bag for her children to get their items back. She also didn't tell them which items were in each bag, meaning the kids couldn't know what they were buying. They couldn't pick and choose which items they bought.

It didn't take long for mothers everywhere to take notice of Alice's clever methods. In fact, Alice's Facebook post has gone viral, gaining thousands of likes. Her children would have to do chores around the house to earn money.
That money went right back to Alice when they earned enough money to purchase a trash bag. Over a dozen bags were up for grabs. Eventually, Alice's children will be able to have their items back. I'm sure they'll think twice before refusing to clean their rooms.
Parents everywhere could piggy-back off of Alice's ideas. There is no guarantee that it will work with every household, but there isn't really any harm in trying.
