Susan Boyle Performs Christmas 'Duet' With Elvis Presley
Dec 19, 2019
Britain's Got Talent star, Susan Boyle recorded and released a duet with the late Elvis Presley for a Christmas album in 2013. With the permission of Priscilla, Boyle was able to use a recording that Elvis had already made in order to remake it into an entirely new song in which she and the king of music sing a duet with each other. The project was more than just another song for the album, but had philanthropic goals, aiming to raise money for two different charitable foundations.
Susan Boyle reached stardom as a direct result of her appearance on the popular British talent show, Britain's Got Talent. Boyle stunned the audience as soon as she opened her mouth and began singing, and hasn't stopped stunning audiences ever since.
Even though she did not win that year's competition, she was a huge fan favorite and was able to use that popularity to launch a new music career. Since then, Boyle has recorded albums, appeared in films, taken the stage, and even filled concert venues. This Christmas album is filled with renditions of everyone's favorite songs.

The duet that Susan Boyle decided to perform with a little technological help, is "O Come All Ye Faithful" which appears on her album named, Home for Christmas. Projects like this, involving musical recordings of Elvis Presley, are rare, and Boyle had to get special permission from Priscilla Presley before getting started.
Because of the charitable goals for the song, the project was approved and fans of Elvis now get the chance to hear the rock legend come to life through music for the first time in a long time.
Through the song, Boyle chose to support the children's charity, Save the Children, which in turn supported the FAST school program, that is dedicated to fostering children's education and growth alongside the family. Money raised by the sale of the song in the United States went to the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation.
In addition to recording the song, Boyle brought the children in on the making of a music video, inviting them to sing with her, and even featured a mini Elvis as part of the Christmas pageant.
Projects like these old favorites are exciting again and give us the chance to enjoy favorite musicians that have passed. Given the success of this project, it's hard to imagine how Susan Boyle can top this. What do you think of this beautiful duet?
