Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have been married since May 1996, and the two seem like they couldn’t be more in love. Together they have three beautiful children and have shared some incredible moments with one another over their many years together. Fans all over the world have been able to get a peek into their happy life together over the couple’s now 25 years of marriage.

Ripa is known for her vivacious attitude as a talk show host, and she has also worked as an actress and television producer. Some of her most notable roles include being the co-host of the syndicated morning talk show “Live! with Kelly and Ryan,” as well as some past roles in sitcoms and soap operas, such as “All My Children.” This is actually how Ripa and Consuelos met, as the latter was a regular on the ABC soap opera. He is also known for his supporting role as Hiram Lodge on the television series “Riverdale.”

Together, the famous couple has been successful in their own career avenues — and they seem just as successful as a married pair. In fact, Ripa didn’t receive her engagement ring from Consuelos until 10 years after they had already gotten married! Usually, the engagement ring comes first in a typical relationship, but proving that their love is purely unique, that’s not what was in store for this adorable celebrity couple.

Over the years, Ripa and Consuelos have been able to shine both together and separately as they have ventured throughout the entertainment industry. The two first met in 1995 on the ABC soap opera “All My Children,” where they worked as co-stars. Before they got together, Consuelos wasn’t really concerned about being in a relationship. When he first met Ripa, “I thought she was adorable, hot, and sexy and all that stuff,” he told HuffPost. “But I was very focused — I didn’t really think I had a chance with her, so I wasn’t really focused on that.” 

Luckily, Ripa was also interested, and the two hit it off. They played a couple on-screen before finally bringing their romance into their real lives together. “I was drawn to Mark because he was positively an alpha male, and I didn’t think I would be drawn to that,” Ripa said. “But I just worship him.”

The happy pair later eloped on May 1, 1996. It wasn’t long before they began expanding on their sweet family together, and their eldest son Michael was born on June 2, 1997. Their daughter, Lola, was born four years later, followed by their youngest child, Joaquin, in 2003.

Ripa and Consuelos have easily become one of the most beloved couples in Hollywood, and their family is absolutely beautiful. While their relationship almost seems too good to be true, the couple has a unique story about a pretty conventional part of getting engaged and getting married. In February 2021, Hello Magazine reported that Ripa actually didn’t get her engagement ring until 10 years after she and Consuelos tied the knot.

During an interview on Anna Faris’ podcast “Unqualified,” Ripa revealed that the couple never even had an engagement prior to their Las Vegas wedding. “We just eloped,” she said, as per Hello Magazine. On their 10-year wedding anniversary, Consuelos finally gifted his wife with a spectacular diamond ring. It’s common for couples to gift some type of band or ring to each other on this remarkable milestone, with a diamond being the gemstone of choice. According to Hello Magazine, Ripa’s new ring features a round diamond with a simple gold band.

“It must have been making him feel a certain way that I didn’t have a ring, so for our 10th anniversary we bought me a ring!” Ripa exclaimed. Moving forward, they continued to celebrate their love and anniversaries together. Closer Weekly reported that the TV personality previously revealed that her wedding ring was her most prized possession. “I’m sure my kids will drag it from my dead body but I will never part with it because it’s so special,” she said about her ring during an interview with Elle.

The couple has now been married for 25 years, and the family spends most of their time together at their New York townhouse, as well as their residence in The Hamptons. Ripa and Consuelos were able to spend plenty of quality time together during the lockdown stages in the past year, as well as getting to spend even more time with their three children. It looks like this romance is most certainly one for the ages!
