Steve Jobs’ Daughter Eve Has Forged Hew Own Path Of Incredible Success
Feb 18, 2022
When an individual thinks of Steve Jobs, they may instantly think of Apple products like iPhones, iPod and iPads. However, when they think of Jobs, they may not think of him as a father. While Jobs died from cancer in 2011, one of his children – Eve Jobs – is making waves in the equestrian world. Her story is not like her father’s, but some believe he would be proud of the woman she is becoming.
The story has been told many times over the years. Steve founded Apple in his garage. According to Forbes, he was attending Reed College, but dropped out. The Apple product, Macintosh (also known as Mac) was created by Jobs in 1976. He was fired from the company nine years later, but he returned to Apple in 1996.
In recent years, his wife, Laurene Powell Jobs is the 35th richest woman in the world with a net worth of $27.5 billion.
In an interview with The New York Times, she said she won’t pass on the inheritance from Steve to her children.
“I’m not interested in legacy wealth buildings, and my children know that,” she said. “Steve wasn’t interested in that. If I live long enough, it ends with me.”
Their daughter, Eve, may not need the inheritance because she is making strategic moves in other industries.
The 23-year-old has made a name for herself as an equestrian. Horse Sport has information that she is one of the best show jumpers in the world. Out of 1,000 riders under the age of 25 involved in the sport, she has ranked fifth.

In 2019, a great success for her show riding skills was at the American Games in Lima, Peru. At the event, she helped the United States team earn a bronze medal and finished fourth overall individually.
While this is not her only accomplishment, Eve is about to graduate from Stanford University. This is a contrast between her and her father – who did not complete school to jumpstart his career with Apple, Inc.
Eve was born July 9, 1998, and “Horse Sport” did a profile on her where she describes how she started as an equestrian, how she balances college and the sport. She said life gets hectic sometimes but it is doable.
Eve said her family does not really have a history with horses, however, she knows she was put on a pony at two years old, but she started riding horses when she was six.
“I have always had a love and appreciation for animals and I think that passion was evident pretty early on,” she said. “My earliest memory is probably being at the Stanford barn having a lesson with Ben Hey (who I still ride with today) on a pony called Dolly. I really owe everything to Ben Hey and Sasha Kollmann, who have worked with me since my earliest pony days.”
Her days have been a balancing act, but she describes how she handles school and competing. She studies science technology and society at the university.
“I guess the easiest example I could give would be a week during the Winter Equestrian Festival in Florida,” she said.

“Usually during those weeks I spend all day Monday in class and getting as much work done as possible before heading to the airport that night. I try to get some sleep on the flight because with the time difference I tend to arrive around 6 a.m. or 7 a.m.! After I get in, I usually take a little power nap before I get up and start with the horses.”
She describes herself as someone that is driven, particular, happy, sensitive and compassionate. She voiced that she has learned several life lessons, such as mistakes happen and it will be okay.
“I know this sounds probably pretty standard, but being a sensitive person, I internalize a lot and get upset with myself when I feel like I’ve messed up, either in life or with riding,” she said. “Learning that people screw up, that it’s actually inevitable, and that it’s okay.”
The second thing she has learned is anyone can learn something from everyone.
Eve grew up in Los Altos Hills, California. Her Instagram has over 260,000 followers. Steve told Walter Isaacson, the author of Steve’s biography, that he could see Eve running Apple one day or as president of the United States.
It isn't always that a child does not follow in a successful parent's footsteps. When we look at the entertainment or music industry, for example, we see so many children treading the path that their parents had previously created. It takes great courage and strength to not only change directions so drastically but to also become such an incredible success while doing something different. Go Eve Jobs!
