Sophía Vergara Admits She Feels Her Best After ‘An Hour And A Half Of Hair And Makeup’

Sofía Vergara is an actress, model, and television personality. She is also famous for being a judge on the world-renowned America's Got Talent (AGT). Vergara got her big break in acting with her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in the widely acclaimed ABC sitcom "Modern Family" and is now one of the highest-paid actresses in the world. 

The Colombian-American actress has appeared in Tyler Perry's "Madea Goes to Jail," "Meet The Browns," and other movies like "The Three Stooges," "Eternals," and "Chef." In addition to movies, Vergara has voiced animated movies, including "Happy Feet Two" and "The Emoji Movie." 

Moreover, Vergara has earned four nominations for the Golden Globe Awards, four for the Primetime Emmy Awards, and eleven nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Awards. She is also on the Forbes list of the world's most powerful women. 

The actress is one of the most highly sought-after personalities in the field of television and movies. In addition, due to her business-savvy mind, she has ventured into many enterprises. Vergara signed endorsement contracts with several companies, including Diet Pepsi in 2013, launched a clothing and furniture line in 2011 and 2013, respectively, and has launched several fragrances since 2014. 

Being a successful actress and entrepreneur comes with a price, as cameras are always pointing at her. The television star always makes sure that she looks good whenever she appears on TV or even just goes out, as the paparazzi could be right around the corner.

It appears that Vergara has loved looking her best ever since she was a teenager, as she revealed in an interview that she's always "very put together."

Sofía Vergara spoke with People Magazine in June 2023 to share her thoughts about her personal beauty routine, as well as to talk about her brand called Toty.

Recalling some of the routines she had followed for the past 35 years, Vergara said she's been doing her makeup since she was 15 years old.

Although she clarified that she was not a fan of heavy foundation or contouring on her face, she always made sure to put on eyeliner, lashes, and her signature lipstick.

The talent show judge also revealed that she loves it every time she gets her makeup done despite it taking quite a long time, and she believes that the more product in her face, the better.

"I wish I could tell you, 'Oh I like it when I just wake up, and my hair is this.' No! I like it when I've done an hour and a half of hair and makeup. More is more!" she told the outlet.

In addition to her daily beauty regimen, the actress also maintains her figure and sexy body by working out a few times a week, despite her not liking it.

"I don't really like to get obsessed with (exercise). I do it when I can. Sometimes I work out with my trainer, or I do spinning or Pilates," she told the New York Times in a 2013 interview.

Regarding her food intake, Vergara admitted in the interview that she didn't follow any special diet, but she made sure to always eat healthy food like fish, vegetables, and salads. The actress also confessed that she took guilty pleasure in eating desserts, but she did it in moderation.

Vergara had been a famous actress, television show judge, and endorser throughout her career, and in 2023, she started dabbling into the world of entrepreneurship as she launched her beauty brand Toty.

Her venture is composed of different products that aim to protect the consumers' skin, and one of her inspirations was her younger self, who didn't know how to protect her skin on a daily basis.

Since Vergara grew up in Barranquilla, Colombia, a city known for its breathtaking beaches, she admitted that she loves going to the shore for a swim, but people in her area didn't use appropriate protection because they used coconut oil.

"We didn't know about protecting ourselves — we [applied] coconut oil. It was like frying a chicken," she said.

Fortunately, the actress found the solution during the 1990s when she read magazines that talked about SPF, which led her to stop tanning her skin.

Regarding the brand's name Toty, Vergara said it was a nickname given to her when she was a little girl.

As of its first launch in 2023, the beauty brand has an array of products like the Ilumina CC Cream SPF 50+ and the Ilumina CC Creamy Compact 50+. Inclusivity is always important for a brand; that's why both products come in 15 gorgeous shades.

Although Vergara loves presenting her best self possible, she also believes that it's important to take care of the inside, as her brand also launched a daily supplement called Solaria Infusion with antioxidants and vitamin C.

"I want to create a brand that has it all. Lips, body makeup that has sun protection, that doesn't get on your clothes, and that you can put on your chest every day to even out," she added.
