Smiling Rescue Dog Seemed To Be At Peace Knowing He Was Safe At Last

Some tales about animals are bittersweet. There is a sadness to the story, but the tale could prove both moving and inspiring. The legend of a homeless and sick dog can bring tears to your eyes, but the conclusion will bring smiles.

At the U.S./Mexican border, a man kept feeding a lonely stray dog. Feeding the homeless dog was all he could do since he could not adopt the sick animal.

Likely, his kind gesture helped keep the dog alive. Without food and water, the poor creature wouldn't probably last long. The canine was ill, and it soon became apparent he wasn't going to last without medical care.

The man called Hope for Paws, and according to their Youtube site, the organization sent a team to the scene immediately. They discovered a very distressed animal suffering from infections, open wounds, mange, and more. The took the poor dog, now named "Pax," to a facility where he received much-needed treatment.

Someone took a photo of the dog, resting his head on his hands and closing his eyes. 

The image comes off as dramatic. The poor dog appears to finally feel at peace, as much of the suffering is over.

Pax turned out to be a fortunate dog. Hope for Paws contacted the Forgotten Dog Foundation to find a forever home. Many other dogs aren't so lucky.

Today, Pax lives with his new owner and enjoys a full recovery. His wounds healed, and he no longer shows any signs of the mange. Photos of Pax at his new home show a truly joyous dog.
