Reality talent shows have been a staple for a lot of people’s watchlists throughout the years. With heart-melting moments and show-stopping performances turning into golden buzzer moments, everyone seemed to have seen it all on television, and more recently on social media!
Among the biggest artists to have come out from these reality television shows, specifically on “Britain’s Got Talent” were the likes of Susan Boyle, Grace VanderWaal and even Calum Scott. But despite the numerous singers who have blown the roof off, dancers who have surprised audiences with their breathtaking choreographies, and even confusing out-of-this-world acts, the public has yet to see what other talents are out there.
On social media, some of the most popular videos on everyone’s feeds would have to be an audition from the show or any other “Got Talent” franchise. The Season 16 of “Britain’s Got Talent” was one of the most interesting seasons of the show yet because of the addition of a new judge, British-Italian TV personality, Bruno Tonioli. Aside from him, the show was filled with shocking auditions and a lot of surprises that people have enjoyed so far.
In the fifth episode of the season, the judges — composed of Tonioli, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, and specifically Simon Cowell — were in for a treat when a familiar British television figure arrived at the auditions – Mr. Bobbly! Keep on reading to learn more about what happened after Mr. Blobby’s arrival and his interaction with Cowell that left everyone laughing their heads off in amusement.
Unbeknownst to many, Mr. Blobby is television “royalty” in the United Kingdom. He was originally a character featured on “Noel’s House Party” on BBC One. His iconic figure can be spotted from a mile away – a pink body covered in yellow spots and green jiggling eyes.

As soon as Mr. Blobby’s feet showed up at the side of the stage and his familiar voice echoed through the auditions, Cowell looked skeptical as others were all smiles seeing him arrive.
As soon as Mr. Blobby took the stage, he unveiled to everyone that he would be performing “Mr. Blobby’s Magic Show,” and sent the room into a boisterous cheer. In his first act, he approached the judges' bench to get his cards and asked Holden to pick a card for him to guess. However, Mr. Blobby was wrong in his guesses. Frustrated, he tried to make Tonioli’s buzzer disappear under his top hat, but alas, he was unsuccessful. Out of frustration, he even pressed Tonioli’s buzzer, giving him his first red X.
An unamused Cowell was invited by Mr. Blobby on stage, and invited to enter a disappearing box. Promising the crowd that he would make Cowell disappear, everyone bid the notorious judge farewell as the mascot closed the door. After pounding the box several times, he was again unsuccessful, as Cowell was still sitting on the stool.
But as he closed the door one last time, everyone was shocked when a pink slimy goo splashed all over Cowell. Everyone was shocked to see the judge looking like that, but it did not stop the whole theater from booming in laughter.
As Mr. Blobby exited the stage after receiving rousing applause, he tried to hug an escaping Ant & Dec backstage. Cowell, on the one hand, chased the other judges to rub the pink goo on them.
The internet was in stitches too after seeing the now-viral video.
“Mr Blobby. What can I say? Never laughed so much in my life. Drenching Simon Cowell in slime and causing absolute chaos. Classic Blobby,” a user tweeted.
