Sharon Osbourne On Changing Iconic Red Hair For Platinum—Is Trying To Look Her 'Best'
Jun 03, 2020
Sharon Osbourne, 67, has officially ditched her iconic dark burgundy tresses to rock her natural shade of white.
Although the move has been welcomed by many fans, others are saying the new look makes her look “old.”
Sharon Osbourne was unrecognizable back in February as she revealed her hair transformation – 100% white hair.
Her colorist, Jack Martin shared the image of the wife of Ozzy Osbourne, as he explained that she had been having to dye her hair once a week to maintain her trademark red. And she was tired of it.

“Another great day in my career welcoming the most beautiful and elegant talk show host and entertainer @sharonosbourne for a complete transformation,” the caption wrote.
"Sharon has 100% white hair and she was coloring her hair once a week dark vibrant red for the past 18 years. She explained to me that she wanted to do this transformation [a] long time ago but every time she attempts it ends up with a disaster."
He added that she was obligated to keep going for touch-ups since she is on TV almost every day hosting ‘The Talk’. He didn’t promise her anything except that he would try his best, and it paid off. After 8 hours and blow drying it to perfection, her fresh crowning glory was revealed.
While many, including her co-hosts on ‘The Talk’ welcomed the change, others were not having it. One fan tweeted:
She looks fab both ways but I do love the red to go with her feisty personality!
Another fan tweeted they thought the new look made Osbourne look “older.”
“Still looks good but prefer the previous look. This makes her look 10yrs older too.”
Despite the nay-sayers, the general consensus seems to be supportive of the 67-year-old’s new look. Many felt that reapplying the dye once a week was an absolute hassle and they could completely understand that the star was fed up with it.
“I was so glad when I saw Jane Fonda with white hair, now Sharon Osbourne too?! BRILLIANT!! I've had white hair since I was 12 years old, it's in my genes. I hope I never feel insecure about them and that I am never pressured into covering them up,” a particularly enthused fan tweeted.
