Shania Twain Shows Up With Her Hunky Husband In Rare Public Appearance Together At Awards Ceremony

Shania Twain may be happily married, but she makes sure to keep her relationship with her husband as far away from the public eye as possible. But when she goes out with him, fans couldn't be any happier to see them together out and about.

Shania Twain is a Canadian singer and songwriter who has sold over 100 million records throughout her career. This makes her the best-selling female country music artist of all time and one of the top-selling artists in music history. She has come to be known as the "Queen of Country Pop" and is best known for her songs "Man, I Feel Like a Woman" and "Any Man of Mine." The singer won a Grammy Award for the latter song.

In 2008, everyone was shocked when her then-husband, Robert Lange, cheated on her with her secretary, Marie-Anne Thiébaud, who was her best friend at the time. Marie-Anne was married to Frédéric Thiébaud, and in a stunning turn of events, Twain and Frédéric later tied the knot together in 2011 in Puerto Rico.

Following the cheating scandal, Twain promptly dumped Lange. He made some far-fetched statements about the breakup, such as, "It's literally just a growing apart, that's all." The couple has only one child, Eja, born on August 2001, which means he was probably around nine years old when his parents formally divorced in 2010. The Thiébauds also divorced as a consequence of the affair.

Years after the split, Twain recalled to Dax Shepard on his "Armchair Expert" podcast the heartbreak that she felt after discovering the infidelity of her husband and how her now-husband Frédéric handled the situation on his side. 

Despite not often being in the spotlight, Twain and Frédéric were spotted together in March of 2023 at the Country Music Awards.

Upon reflection, Twain believes that the things that had happened to her after the divorce shouldn't have been "so hard" on her. 

"I should have been less naive about life's ups and downs. Maybe I'm too much, like, 'That's all behind me," she told Shepard. 

Twain never thought she would find love again. But three years later, the biggest surprise of her life came when Frédéric came into her life.  

"I didn't want to love again-it was the last thing on my mind," Twain told PEOPLE in an interview back in July 2011.

Frédéric and Twain have now been married for over a decade. The couple officially dated in 2009 and got married in Rincon, Puerto Rico, on New Year's Day in 2011. 

Her happy marriage boosted her confidence, and she became happier with herself as she introduced her new era with bold looks and her own unique fashion sense. Her 2022 single, "Waking Up Dreaming," is about showing her affection toward her partner and being happy with him.

Of course, many were shocked when Twain linked up with Frédéric after their respective divorces with their partners, but she clarified that they had no romantic connections with each other when they were still together with their ex-partners. She even revealed that she had only been with Frédéric at dinners and get-togethers because of how busy he was working with a huge company. 

In fact, Twain revealed that it was actually Lange and Frédéric who had more interactions back then. But, she thought it was a "beautiful surprise" to see how her now-husband dealt with the divorce "smarter," "gracefully" and "graciously."

"It was not cool with him, but he was smarter about it. I was uncontrollably fragile over it, which I had never felt before ever because I thought for once I was stable. I really believe that I'm safe, so that really devastated me, I think more than any other instability I've ever felt," Twain said of Frédéric and the breakup of her first marriage. 

But Twain and Frédéric are rarely seen together in public. That's why fans couldn't help but rejoice when they are seen together out and about.

When Twain attended the CMT Music Awards in March 2023, she made sure to bring along with her Frédéric to witness a special moment in her life,

Twain, who attended the event to accept the CMT Equal Play Award, was the third person to ever receive it.

While Twain and Frédéric did not walk the red carpet together, they were spotted together during the opening of the show.

When Twain finally accepted her award, Frédéric couldn't be prouder of his wife. As a matter of fact, he could be seen all smiles as Twain delivered her acceptance speech.

Meanwhile, Twain said the CMT Music Awards hold a special place in her heart because they gave the first-ever award she received as an artist.

"You may not know this, but the CMT Rising Star Award was my very first award ever, 30 years ago," she said during her speech. "So CMT holds a very special place in my heart. I promise I will continue to champion country artists that are not currently played at the level they deserve. I believe in an all-inclusive country music family."
