Royal Expert Claims Meghan Markle Fears Archie & Lilibet Blaming Her For Making Huge Life-Changing Decision For Them

Apr 22, 2024

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced to the world on Jan. 8, 2020, that they would step down as senior working members of the British royal family in a move popularly dubbed “Megxit.” By spring of 2020, the transition was complete, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were no longer performing royal duties.

Since then, they have lived in the United States with Meghan’s mother and their two children. Although he and Meghan stepped down from their duties as senior royals, they have not shunned the spotlight, appearing at public charity events and pursuing their own creative and philanthropic ventures, many under their brand, Archewell.

However, tensions between their small family and the most powerful family in the world have grown and created a wall between them. Scrutiny of Harry and Meghan has intensified, and people have started expressing their disdain for every move and decision they make, especially toward their children’s lives – Archie and Lilibet.

Among the biggest things that the public scorned about the couple was their decision to let their children keep their royal titles despite constantly criticizing the very institution that gave them said titles.

In light of the terrible health condition that King Charles III and Kate Middleton have been suffering, Harry and Meghan’s decision has taken the spotlight again. Meghan reportedly tries to keep herself and her family from returning to the United Kingdom, but Harry, who’s splitting himself in half in trying to think of his own family and his relationship with his father, brother William, and sister-in-law, Kate, is torn between them. Prior to the infamous “Megxit,” Harry reportedly had a great relationship with his sister-in-law, Kate Middleton. However, as Meghan entered the picture, things seemed to have changed, which affected everyone. He detailed how Kate had made Meghan cry over a tailoring blunder.

Although it seems there is little love lost between the Sussexes and Wales, Harry and Meghan did issue a statement after Kate’s cancer diagnosis, saying they wished “health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace.”

However, some think that Harry must be feeling intense guilt following Kate’s cancer reveal. Author Tessa Dunlop surmised that Harry must be in a “painful place” and regret his treatment of Kate.

“When you do discover that your sister-in-law has cancer and you’ve written stuff that can’t be retracted, that’s quite a painful place to be in,” Dunlop said. “They deliberately criticize the monarchy (and then offer) themselves as an alternative to monarchy. So then when the monarchy is in trouble, we do kind of make a comparison.”

With the 2024 Invictus Games coming up, there have been heightened reports and rumors about the Sussexes’ return to the United Kingdom. While Prince Harry’s attendance is essentially confirmed, the possibility of having Meghan and the children back in the United States has been highly discussed.

A source told The Mirror, “It’s now got to the point where Meghan doesn’t want to come to the UK with the children. She just doesn’t feel safe. The situation is now about whether the family should attend with increased security or Harry should go it alone.”

Meanwhile, there were reports that King Charles is extending an olive branch toward the Sussexes so that he may see his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet over the summer.

Meghan and Harry have revealed in their interview with Oprah that Archie not receiving a royal title at first was racially motivated. However, in 2023, it was revealed that both Archie and Lilibet were finally given the title after King Charles acceded to the throne.

Although royal tradition largely prevented the Sussexes’ children from being called Princes and Princesses early on, many blame Meghan’s animosity toward the British Royal family for keeping the children from experiencing the life they were born for in the UK.

Insiders have claimed that Meghan has expressed worry over the fact that her children might blame her in the future for not having a relationship with their cousins because she decided to keep them away from them.

“A friend of the couple - one of Meghan’s few aristocratic friends from her time in the UK - told me Meghan does miss some aspects of life in the UK and worries that her children will blame her if they never get to see their cousins and feel as adults that they have been deprived of what might have been a fun and meaningful existence in the UK as working royals,” Royal expert Tom Quinn told The Mirror.

The outlet also says that Meghan reportedly doesn’t want to “be thrown back into an anxiety-fueled visit to England where she feels like she’s not wanted.”

Meanwhile, OK Magazine sources reveal that Harry has been urging Meghan to try and rebuild the bridge they have seemingly burned with his family.

“Harry doesn’t want to keep making solo trips to the UK. He would prefer it if the entire family made regular visits to see his family and build bridges, but there is so much going on behind the scenes that it just isn’t possible at the moment.”
