Tributes To Beloved Father

Robin would have turned 70 years old on July 21, 2021. Each year his children post tributes to the actor and comedian, and this year was no exception. Zak, Robin's son, wrote in his tribute post on Instagram, "Dad, on what would be your 70th birthday, I would want you to know that your incredible spirit lives within us. Our family will be celebrating you and your memory today. We miss you and love you always!"

Zak also posted a photograph of the late Robin on his Twitter, and captioned the post, "Today would be 70. Missing you especially much today. Love you always, evermore."

Though Zelda, Robin's daughter, did not post a tribute in 2021, she did post a "funny" tribute for his would-be 69th birthday in 2020. "Today would've been Dad's 69th birthday, so to honor him (& that glorious number), I will be donating $69.69 to as many local homeless shelters as I can," Zelda wrote on Twitter. "Join me if you like, but regardless, know I am wishing you all at least one hearty, immature belly laugh on Dad today."

Estate and Dispute

Robin was working on the show "The Crazy Ones" at the time of his passing, which was his first television role since "Mork and Mindy." In an interview with Parade, the actor explained that there was a financial reason for returning to TV. "There are bills to pay. My life has downsized, in a good way. I'm selling the ranch up in Napa. I just can't afford it anymore," he said.

The interviewer then asked Robin if this was because he lost all his money in his divorces. He responded: "Well, not all. Lost enough. Divorce is expensive. I used to joke they were going to call it 'all the money,' but they changed it to 'alimony.' It's ripping your heart out through your wallet."

According to Celebrity Net Worth, at the time of his passing, Robin had an estimated $50 million. This could have been more, but the amount he paid to his ex-wives in alimony brought it down considerably. However, this didn't seem to bother the actor as he said it wasn't the lifestyle he needed. He said, "Are things good with my exes? Yes. But do I need that lifestyle? No."

In 2011, Robin married Susan Schnieder and they were together until his death. After which, there was a dispute among Schnieder and the Williams children over his estate. This went to court and in the end, Schnieder's lawyer released a statement breaking down the outcome, which revealed his overall estate to be much greater than his net worth. According to People, it said:

"Mrs. Williams is able to keep the few emotional items she requested, such as their wedding gifts, selected clothing items, a watch Robin often wore, plus the bike she and her husband bought together on their honeymoon.

"The Williams children will receive the vast majority of the items they demanded, such as more than 50 bikes and over 85 watches, as well as thousands of never-disputed items like Robin Williams's Academy Award statue.

"With an overall estate estimated at more than $100 million, Mrs. Williams will be receiving only a fraction of the overall estate, representing those funds sufficient to allow her to remain in the home for her lifetime."
