Rebel Wilson Dresses Up As Britney Spears In New Photograph

Aug 02, 2021

Last year, Rebel Wilson made headlines for her dramatic weight loss. She described 2020 as her "year of health," and had come close to her target weight thanks to a dedicated regimen of diet and exercise that worked out well. The 41-year-old actress and comic, who is known for movies like "Bridesmaids" and "Pitch Perfect," said in the interview with The Sun that she has decided to stop listening to film bosses who have reportedly paid her to "stay bigger."

It looks like the actress has been sticking strictly to her regimen and has continued to maintain her weight loss as is clear in her most recent photograph on social media which was uploaded on August 1, 2021. Wilson is set to take part in a film which is titled "Senior Year," in which she is dressed like Britney Spears in the music video for the singer’s 1999 hit “(You Drive Me) Crazy”.

Britney has become a major figure in the media once more due to her ongoing battle to have her conservatorship removed. On July 15, a judge ruled that Britney can choose her own lawyer in the fight to end her conservatorship — a freedom that was only just now allowed to her for the first time in 13 years.

Britney has also not held back as she has candidly spoken out against her family, which included her father James Spears, and sister Jamie Lynn Spears. Many influential celebrities and musicians have since spoken out about their support for Britney in these trying times, and Wilson too posted a supportive message for the star in her new post.

Wilson uploaded a photograph on her Instagram account where she showed off her slim figure and also paid her own tribute to Britney. Wilson is seen dressed like Britney from one of her 90s music videos for the1999 hit "(You Drive Me) Crazy." The photograph was captioned, "My life is CRAZY right now 😜 ps 💜 you Britney"

Wilson is seen wearing a similar green top as from the music video as well as sporting long, blonde wavy hair like Britney’s look from 1999. This is not the first time that Wilson has paid homage to Britney; last week, the actress uploaded another teaser to TikTok, where she was seen wearing a waitress uniform and pigtails similar to how Britney is dressed according to the Independent. The movie "Senior Year" is set to be released in 2022.

News.com.AU reported that Wilson revealed to fans that she shed weight in 2020 due to fertility reasons. "It first started when I was looking into fertility stuff and the doctor was like, 'Well, you’d have a much better chance if you were healthier,'" she told fans in an Instagram Live video last week.

While Wilson was initially offended by the suggestion that she lose weight, she said that she eventually took on the advice. "That’s kind of what started it, that if I lost some excess weight that it would give me a better chance for freezing eggs and having the eggs be a better quality," the actress said. "It wasn’t even really myself, it was more thinking of a future mini-me, really."

In an Instagram post from May 3, 2021, Wilson posted a photo looking forlorn and added a long caption that alluded to infertility problems. Though Wilson does not go into detail about what the problems are, she does express sadness and frustration. Wilson has always spoken openly about her life and shares her thoughts with fans often, so when it came to something that can be as devastating as infertility, she opened up to her fans.

While her determination to become healthier by losing weight has been highly successful, she continues to struggle with infertility. At the end of 2020, she went live on Instagram where she talked about how her weight loss journey also factored into her fertility. "I was thinking about fertility and having good quality eggs in the bank, so I was like, 'OK, I'm going to do this, I'm going to get healthy," she said according to CNN. The photo she uploaded on Instagram read:

"I got some bad news today and didn’t have anyone to share it with...but I guess I gotta tell someone. To all the women out there struggling with fertility, I feel ya. The universe works in mysterious ways and sometimes it all doesn’t make sense...but I hope there’s light about to shine through all the dark clouds."

Though she does not allude to any details about what the "bad news" is, her sadness has clearly come through the photograph and the caption. However, nothing has stopped the star from continuing her journey towards health, and as seen in the photograph below, Wilson is looking better than ever!
