Rachel McAdams Is 42 Years Old And Looks As Gorgeous As Ever

Rachel McAdams is one of the biggest names in Hollywood. She has acted in a variety of roles, with some of her most notable being her parts in “The Notebook,” “Mean Girls” and most recently “Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga.” McAdams is known for being one of the sweetest actresses in Hollywood, contrary to some of the roles she has played in movies over the years.

McAdams was born Nov. 17, 1978, in London, Ontario, Canada. By the age of 7, she had already expressed interest in performing and attended Disney and Shakespeare summer camps to help further her interest. McAdams took acting seriously and graduated from York University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts honors degree with the theatre program.

Soon after, McAdams landed her first official role in the entertainment industry, and she continued to land some small roles for the next few years until she made her big break in 2004 with the now-classic comedy film “Mean Girls.” Her career skyrocketed following the success of the movie, and she starred in the romantic movie “The Notebook.” These breakthrough roles helped McAdams become well-known all over the world.

Since then, McAdams has been nominated for and has even won a handful of awards for all her work in the television and film industry. At 42, McAdams has no plans to slow down or stop her career. In fact, the actress is currently working on a film while still enjoying time with her family. She has much to celebrate as she has continued to thrive in her extremely successful career and is also going to be welcoming a new baby in her family very soon.

McAdams has been dating screenwriter Jamie Linden since 2016. He is most famous for his work on “We Are Marshall” and “Dear John.” Together they have one son who was born in April 2018, but his son has never been released to the general public. 

Back in April 2020, Mcadams showed a quick peek into her life as a mother by talking about what life in quarantine was like with her son. “I have a very welcome distraction in my son,” McAdams told TODAY. “That’s pretty much what I do all the time.”

The insight was a rare occasion for the actress, as she has chosen to keep much of her personal life as private as possible, despite being so accustomed to living in the public eye. Thankfully for McAdams, she’s been able to do just that, and she continued to talk about how much she was enjoying quality time with her son. “He’s so entertaining,” she added. “I thought, ‘Would I rather be alone in quarantine or with my family?’ There are days, sure, but I would be so bored without him around to make it so fun.”

McAdams and Linden have much to celebrate, as they are currently expecting their second child together! During an interview with The Sunday Times, McAdams talked about how excited she was to be having another baby. “It’s the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me, hands down,” McAdams said. “(People say) your life is not your own anymore, but I had 39 years of me, I was sick of me, I was so happy to put the focus on some other person.”

The actress revealed that she had “waited a long time” to become a mother, and had no regrets about entering motherhood a little later in life. “It’s just how it happened,” she said. “And I didn’t want to do it before it was the right time.” McAdams has yet to release her due date to the public.

Recently, McAdams has continued to show off her incredible acting abilities as she recently starred in the 2020 movie “Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga,” alongside Will Ferrell. She talked about what it was like to make the movie during an interview with Seth Meyers in June 2020. “To me, it felt like the Olympics for a singing competition,” McAdams said about the huge event the movie is based on. “It’s massive.”

Even though McAdams and her co-star Ferrell are big names in the acting industry, they didn’t receive a lot of attention or recognition while filming, as they learned that most people had very stubborn stances on Eurovision. “It is one of those things where people love it or hate it,” McAdams explained.

At 42, the actress has shown no signs of stopping her monumental career or slowing down at all. Her work hasn’t ended yet, as one of her movies, “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” is currently in post-production and is set to be released in 2022. McAdams is also currently at work on the set of “Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret,” which is still in the early stages of filming.
