Prince Charles And Camilla Celebrate 15 Years Of Marriage Today

On this day, April 9th, back in 2005, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall got married through a civil ceremony followed by a religious blessing. Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles have now been married for fifteen years, and they celebrate their anniversary after having reunited during a time of self-isolation due to coronavirus.

On February 10th, 2005, the Clarence House officially announced that Prince Charles was to marry Camilla, who was actually an ex-girlfriend of the prince and originally met him back in 1970, according to Hello! Magazine.

Camilla had dated Prince William before her first marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles, but later made public appearances alongside Prince William after they went public with their renewed romance.

On the couple's 15th anniversary, their wedding can be remembered through vivid photos. The event gathered royals to Windsor Castle for the wedding and crowds lined the streets as the couple tied the knot at Windsor Guildhall, Berkshire.

The wedding date had originally been set for April 8th, but had to be postponed for a day to ensure that the Prince of Wales could stand-in for The Queen at the funeral of Pope John Paul II.

The Queen and Prince Philip did not attend the civil ceremony for the wedding but instead were present at the service of blessing. A reception for the newlyweds was hosted later that day by the royal couple at Windsor Castle.

Before the wedding, Camilla was known as Camilla Parker Bowles. However, after tying the knot, it was announced that she would assume the name of "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall."

Witnesses for the couple's wedding included Prince Charle's son, Prince William, and Camilla's son Tom Parker Bowles.

Now for their 15th anniversary, Prince Charles and Camilla have posted a photo on their official Instagram page after they had been separated from each other in self-isolation due to Coronavirus. The photo features the royal couple with their two dogs, Bluebell and Beth.
