Pat Boone is a Hollywood legend, singer, actor, television personality, and more. Boone has been working in the limelight since the 1950s. But it's his 65-year-marriage to late wife Shirley that he is most proud of. This summer, he spoke about his life, career, and love in an interview, detailing what he values most in life.
At 86-years-old, Pat Boone has had a stellar career in Hollywood, working as a singer, actor, and in various other roles for over six decades. In fact, the hardworking celeb is still at it, working on a book about faith titled If.
Speaking about his early successes, Pat has said, as reported by Closer Weekly, "I was the youngest guy ever to have his own network music variety show, at 22." That's certainly no small feat. But Pat is more than just a superstar entertainer, he's also a sensible man, having attended Columbia University since he "didn't expect the entertainment thing to survive."
But alongside his incredibly long career, Pat also had a very long and successful marriage to his wife Shirley, who passed away in 2019 on January 11. The couple was married for 65 years. Speaking about their union, Boone said, as reported by Western Journal:
“We made our commitment in marriage to God and to each other. We make our own decisions, but we are helped supernaturally. [I’m] willing to be led in doing the right things.”

When Shirley passed away last year from vasculitis, Pat sent a touching, short-but sweet statement to friends and family, as reported by WRCB-TV:
“Quick bulletin, change of address: Dear Shirley BOONE doesn’t dwell in Beverly Hills now—she’s just been warmly welcomed into a beautiful new mansion in Heaven, prepared specifically for her and her husband by Jesus Himself, who said ‘that where I am, you may be also.’ Rejoice for her, she’s begun her eternal life. She loves you too, as I do.”
Faith has been a large part of Pat's life, and also his marriage with Shirley. Western Journal reports that Pat wrote a song titled You and I, which "expresses the thought that eventually we will be together in heaven," Boone said. He also stated:
“My greatest accomplishment is our marriage of 65 years in Hollywood, being an entertainer, and my four kids. We’re living a good life.”
Pat still resides at the Beverly Hills home he and Shirley purchased in 1960, where he lives with one housekeeper and his dog Shadow, a little cocker spaniel. He has said: "I'm doing fine. I mean, gosh, I miss her." What an incredible love story for the ages.
