Aug 31, 2018
It’s very inspiring to see others extending their time to lift others up through their service. The level of pureness emitting from these loving individuals shows just how we all can grow from the impact we have on each other through our service. One by one selfless acts are committed to help other people in need. Jack Morrow, a 95-year-old has been spending hours upon hours doing just that. He has committed a vast amount of his energy to use his gifts to offer something beautiful to any newborn babies that may be in need.
According to the Star Tribune, Morrow expressed that whenever he is presented with a new project he doesn’t stop until the project is completed. This has proven to be true. For months Jack Morrow has been working long hour days full of tasks to complete. On August 10th, he turned 95 years old. He had set a goal that he was determined to meet by his birthday.

For years Morrow has been enjoying the task of making quilts for newborn babies. Sure that he had already broken many records in the category of quilt making, his past accomplishments were no longer satisfying his needs. The goal he had set out to reach was 500 quilts by his birthday. As a result of his determination and strong will, he was able to reach his goal early. His 500th quilt was finished just days before his birthday. He donated the quilt to Bundles of Love.
On their charity website it states that they are a non-profit organization that thrives off volunteer work. The charity enjoys partnering with other organizations in the community working to help other families that may be in need in Minnesota. The items provided by Morrow are handmade quilts and other items for newborns.
As a result of Morrow’s wife encouraging him to join a club for quilting to help keep him productively busy, he can now thank her for helping him find a late-life hobby that he really enjoys doing. Before joining the club for quilting, Morrow didn’t have any experience working with a sewing machine. He did not let his lack of experience hold him back. Instead, he went for it anyway.
This newfound passion is what started his journey. His donations continue, and he has reached out to his own Facebook friends asking for birthday donations so that he can give them to Bundles of Love. Do you know of anyone else who is doing something special for the community?
