Bev's daughter is in the fashion industry, which added even more worry to her feelings of not looking the way she wanted to look to make her daughter proud of her. The last thing Bev wanted was to embarrass her daughter on her wedding by her appearance. So, she decided to get some professional help with a makeover.
She contacted The Makeover Guy. Watch this video as Christopher and his team, Kelly Marciniak, Sarah Remer, and Robert Lindquist, go to work on her hair and make-up. Already an attractive woman, Bev just needed a little freshening up with a new hairstyle and some professional make-up.
Christopher and his team were able to give Bev the confidence she was looking for. A little change of hair color and some layers created the trendy style that Bev was looking for. The make-up simply enhanced Bev's own natural beauty.
Now, with her new makeover, Bev was ready to celebrate her daughter's wedding and not have to worry about her daughter being ashamed of the way she looked. The only thing Bev regrets is not having the makeover sooner.
It's truly amazing what Christopher Hopkins is capable of. For those who don't know, Hopkins has made a career out of makeovers like the one you can see below. But Hopkins wasn't always so well known. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, it seems like Hopkins was more into music than beauty and hair when he was a child. During high school, he received awards for his piano and voice skills. And in college at St. Olaf's in the early '80s, Hopkins continued to follow his passion to perform, singing as a part of the college's choir. However, according to his website, he did seem to show an interest in beauty from an early age despite his fascination with music.
In Hopkins' Baby Book, his mother reportedly wrote, "At five months he's kind of a mommy's boy. Mommy spoils him a little! Very cuddly. Likes TV. Happy baby. At 18 months he talks quite a bit, most everything he tries to say is quite clear. He likes to play with shoes. Loves animals. A big tease. Likes to play with girls, dress-up, and dolls. Loves to play records, music of all kinds. Likes his hair cut and combed just so. He doesn't mind too well, very independent."
As you can see, Hopkins was clearly into looking great from a young age given his interest in playing dress-up and having his hair "combed just so." But it wasn't until 1990 that Hopkins really embarked on his makeover career. That year he opened Christopher Hopkins Salon in the Hubbard Broadcasting building in St. Paul, Minnesota. At that time, he was responsible for styling people before they went on television. He even appeared as a guest on the daytime show Good Company. From then on, Hopkins' career took off.
He re-opened his salon as the Christopher Hopkins Image Center in downtown Minneapolis, and the young stylist began to work on shows like the Oprah Winfrey Show and with celebrity clients like Hillary Clinton. Eventually, Hopkins wanted to start his own television show. But the process of organizing the whole thing turned out to be too demanding, and so Hopkins launched his own web series called Whadja Do Today? in September 2009, which had a run of 100 episodes. Today, Hopkins is known as The Makeover Guy after he started a new web series by the same name. And it's clear why he's popular. Just watch the video below to see for yourself!
Isn't it amazing the unrealized potential we all have in us that is just waiting to be tapped? Do you have a story about an amazing makeover? We'd love to hear about it!
