Mom Captures Video Of Her Adopted Baby Girl With Down Syndrome Flashing Her ‘New Smile’

Every parent loves seeing their children happy. Whether it is watching their kids live out their wildest dreams or simply show off their dazzling smiles on a cheerful day, parents typically can’t get enough of seeing their kids beam with contentment.

One sweet baby girl with Down syndrome wanted to give her new adoptive mother a huge smile — and luckily, it was all caught on camera. Although the video was originally posted online back in 2019, it has continued to gain traction as people still cannot get enough of the sheer adorableness witnessed in front of the camera.

The baby in the video is simply known as Baby H, as her full name was not released in an effort to protect her privacy during the adoption process. At the time, she was only 8 months old and resided in Texas with her family.

In the video, Baby H could be seen on her blanket when her mom asked her how her day was. All of a sudden, the little girl’s adorable face erupted into a precious grin, and she couldn’t stop smiling!

According to Baby H’s adoptive mom, the little girl’s smile seemed to pop up out of the blue.

"When Baby H was almost eight months old, she woke up one morning with this brand-new smile," her mom told The Daily Mail. "We noticed it several times and realized she was showing us a cheesy grin — we laughed and laughed every time she did it and she just loved the attention."

The baby girl’s mom noted that she noticed Baby H could do the smile on cue. In the next part of the video, her mom said, "Oh I love your new smile! That is the cutest! Can you show me again?"

Just like her mom said she would, Baby H became overjoyed at the sound of her voice and put forth her best and biggest smile once again. The mom’s voice was heard in the background, and she said, “Oh my goodness I like that new smile!”

The video was posted by the National Down Syndrome Adoption Network in October 2019 on Facebook. In their post, they referred to the tiny tot as a “SUPER STAR!”

The video continued to circulate, and people couldn’t get enough of Baby H and her sweet smile. One person commented, “What a cutie pie!!! Love that smile, makes my day!!!” Another said, “She is stunning!!”

Baby H’s mom remarked in an interview with The Daily Mail that her laughter was the reaction to how much she loved her baby's smile:

"You can tell by my laughter how much we adore this smile and she actually only smiled like this for a couple of weeks so this video is a treasure for us."

The adoptive mother added:

"We hope that all the viewers will see the beauty that lies in people with Down Syndrome. Although a Down Syndrome diagnosis can be scary, the reality is that your child has a purpose and will be able to live a full and happy life."
