Middle-Aged Dads Take World By Storm With Their Dance Crew's Performance Videos

Jun 16, 2023

For the most part, social media has been a fun sport since its inception. Like everything that has come to be as a result of technology, it has its pros and cons. Social media users have used it as a tool to build unhealthy habits around their devices, spread misinformation, promote online bullying, and increase stress levels. But, arguably, the benefits of social media far outweigh its demerits.

The advent of social media has made the world a global village. Users can share their thoughts, learn new skills, communicate with people from all ends of the world, source information, and make friends, all with the click of a button. It has also provided a platform for users to fully express themselves and showcase their talents.

While there are several social media platforms where video content is the order of the day, TikTok appears to be taking the lead. The app has a virality factor that makes users go viral as long as their content is relatable and fun to watch. TikTok users have gone viral for content about singing, cooking, dancing, acting, speaking, or just being their regular selves. What’s more interesting is that going viral on the platform might lead to going viral on other video-sharing platforms as well.

Also, these platforms do not discriminate on the basis of age; both the old and supervised young continue to share their creative content with the world. For the old, it is an opportunity to be part of something that wasn’t available in their prime.

As of 2023, a group of creators showcasing their talents is “Outta Puff Daddys,” a middle-aged crew of dancing dads that have taken TikTok by storm with their moves. Continue reading to discover the details of the dancing dads.

This middle-aged crew of dancing dads called Outta Puff Daddys have got the moves, and they are not afraid to show it. What’s more, they are getting all the attention from social media users who love their content. The group of dads' foray into an internet sensation started in the unlikeliest manner; the dads formed the group as a means to embarrass their kids.

In an interview with NBC, one dad revealed that the group was formed in 2012 in Brighton, Sussex, when they came together to plan a surprise performance at their children’s dance recital. The audience loved the performance, and the crew took off from there. However, it wasn’t until during the COVID-19 pandemic that one of the dad’s daughters suggested that they take their content to TikTok. The dads obliged and started filming their dances in parking garages, and the rest is history.

While the Outta Puff Daddys have brought humor and joy to the lives of many, they have also strengthened their bonds as friends. In an interview with NBC, one of the dads shared how it has helped them.

“It's just given us a whole buzz of friendship, doing things together, supporting each other,” the dad said.

They have also progressed to include messages that support positivity and promote men’s health and mental health awareness in their videos.

“It’s a culture we have kinda built within ourselves to talk openly, to listen without judgment … it was almost our duty to tell the world what we were doing and to encourage others to do the same,” another dad shared

Over a decade after the group was formed, they have grown in number and have now become an internet sensation with thousands of views on their content across social media platforms.
