Sesame Street has been teaching and entertaining children for the past five decades. The likes of Big Bird, Elmo, Oscar the Grouch, and the rest of the gang are part of anyone’s experience growing up. These now iconic characters have been known to teach children numerous lessons, usually with the accompaniment of a catchy song.
Whether you are just starting to learn your ABCs or trying to memorize the state capitals, putting facts into a song is a great way to learn. In a recent video, megastar Michael Bublé teamed up with Elmo and the rest of the Sesame Street gang team to teach children a powerful lesson about self-esteem.
The cute video begins with Abby Cadabby and Murray trying to teach Elmo a new dance move. After failing to get into rhythm twice, Elmo is close to giving up. It is then that Abby Cadabby and Murray encourage him to never give up, upon which Bublé emerges from Abby Cadabby’s wand.

All four now looking very dapper in fancy tuxedos, the Canadian singer and the rest of the group encourage children to have persistence in the song “Believe in Yourself.” The gang sings to never give up. Even if people tell you that you cannot do something or don’t believe in you, you need to believe in yourself to achieve your dreams. By having self-confidence, one can do anything and be anyone.
The song’s video, which can be found on the official Sesame Street YouTube channel, has thus far garnered over 8.5 million views. While those who have commented on the video praise its message to children, they note that it is also a powerful reminder to adults to never give up on chasing your dreams.
Bublé’s rendition of “Believe in Yourself” is the most recent of many versions of the song. The Sesame Street cast first introduced the song in 1972. Since then, it is has been covered by numerous artists, including Diana Ross, Ray Charles, and NSYNC.
