Meteorologist's Boisterous Dog Is A Fun Work-From-Home Interruption
May 28, 2020
If you watch the local stations for your weather reports in Tampa Bay, then you may have noticed that meteorology has gotten a whole lot fuzzier thanks to Paul Dellegatto and his adorable canine companion.
The FOX 13 News reporter has been conducting broadcasts from home ever since the coronavirus shutdown, which means he is occasionally joined by an affectionate Golden Retriever. His joyous pet, Brody, clearly wants the spotlight on him, and the amusing on-air results of his attention-seeking behavior have provided a welcome distraction for today's surreal times.
At first, the weather update appears to be going smoothly; however, the journalistic operation was turned upside down when Brody leapt into frame. He eagerly climbed into Dellegatto’s lap and knocked down a satellite feed in the process. With a hint of bemused hesitation, the reporter stated, “The maps aren’t going to move because he just whacked the computer with his head. Let me just verbalize the forecast.”

Although the jovial dog’s actions initially appear innocent, his facade of obliviousness is discarded when the critter does a sideways glance at the camera to provide a knowing wink. His gigantic smile is simply contagious. While he may not be a consummate professional, he possesses a sense of charisma worthy of becoming a distinctive television personality.
Based on the sparkling look in his eyes, this oversized puppy may just be gunning for his owner’s job. His unrestrained happiness is a serious delight to behold. Audiences everywhere must agree considering this clip has already received more than 2.2 million views.
Another crew member, Craig, had obscured himself behind a veil to prevent his reflection from being seen. Unfortunately, Brody thought this counted as a game of hide-and-seek. Thus, he eventually hopped down and scampered towards the camera. Perhaps he was just ready for his close-up.
As his correspondent, Linda Hurtado, correctly declared, “Don’t take this the wrong way, Paul, but this is amazing and great… We enjoyed every moment of that.”
In Brody’s world, his dog dad was just wasting time talking to himself. Naturally, his animal instincts didn’t feel that was a good use of energy that would be much better spent pampering him. Apparently, it was also dinner time, and he wasn’t about to forego a meal just for the sake of weather patterns. You can tell that Dellegatto was mildly annoyed, but he couldn’t bring himself to rectify the situation with anything other than a half-hearted chastisement: “That wasn’t very smart.”
While Brody’s owner seemed rather embarrassed, the world at large had the opposite reaction. This heartfelt incident was one-of-a-kind, and we can all agree that this beats a run-of-the-mill forecast any day, especially since few people are going outside right now anyways.
As the segment was winding to a close, it became clear the meteorology report was unsalvageable. Dellegatto acquiesced to the situation at hand and promised to deliver all the information upon returning at 4:45 p.m.; presumably, Brody would be well-fed and placated by then.
This forecast includes a smattering of puppy ambushes alongside a chance of furry hugs. Be certain to spread the canine cheer to everyone you know who needs a dose of upbeat animal antics.
