When Meghan Markle returned to Instagram, royal fans knew it would bring them closer to the lives of the Sussex family. And on Jan. 7, 2025, the Duchess of Sussex shared a heartfelt tribute to her late dog, Guy.
The incredibly touching video she shared on her new Instagram account, @meghan, included tender moments that honored Guy’s memory and offered a rare and intimate glimpse into family life with Prince Harry and their children, revealing the warmth and love surrounding their home during this emotional time.
Meghan captioned the video: “In 2015, I adopted a beagle from a dog rescue in Canada. He had been at a kill shelter in Kentucky and given a few days to live. I swooped him up….and fell in love.”
The Instagram montage also revealed a heartwarming rare sighting of Meghan carrying her daughter Princess Lilibet through her Montecito garden.
Not to mention the surprising sound of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s voices that truly melted hearts. Lilibet’s soft voice and Archie’s distinctive American accent were heard in the Instagram video, showcasing their growing personalities and the strong bond within the family.
The post offered a touching reminder of how quickly Archie and Lilibet are growing up and marked the first time their voices were publicly heard since they sang “Happy Birthday” to King Charles III in 2023.
The little prince’s voice was first heard in Prince Harry and Meghan’s Netflix docuseries, released in December 2022. The series “Harry & Meghan” explored their journey from royal life to their decision to step back from their roles within the British monarchy.

In the Instagram montage, Meghan shared a captivating glimpse into her private life, featuring a serene moment in the grounds of her and Prince Harry’s expansive seven-acre Montecito estate.
The photo showed the 43-year-old Duchess strolling through the lush garden with her young daughter, Princess Lilibet, perched on her hip, exuding effortless elegance in a relaxed white shirt, light-wash jeans, brown mules, and a straw sun hat.
As she swung a basket, two of the couple’s dogs, including Guy, were seen playfully nearby, adding to the warm, family-centric vibe of the scene.
The image highlighted the couple’s manicured lawn, pristine patio, and vibrant shrubbery, all set against the home’s hilltop location. Towering trees lined the property, offering natural beauty and added privacy, making the estate feel like a secluded sanctuary.
This wasn’t the first time fans have gotten a peek into the Sussexes’ picturesque garden. In their Netflix docuseries, “Harry & Meghan,” cameras followed the family around their home, showing intimate moments of everyday life.
Viewers saw Prince Archie enjoying a football game on the sprawling lawn, the mother-son duo feeding their chickens, and Harry and Archie picking fresh oranges from the trees.
Other standout features of the estate include two palm trees in the garden, which hold sentimental value to the family, as Meghan revealed in an interview with The Cut in August 2022:
“One of the first things my husband saw when we walked around the house was those two palm trees. See how they’re connected at the bottom? He goes, ‘My love, it’s us.’ And now every day when Archie goes by us, he says, ‘Hi, Momma. Hi, Papa.’”
