When Meghan Markle returned to Instagram, royal fans anticipated an intimate look into the Sussex family’s life. On Jan. 7, 2025, the Duchess of Sussex shared a heartfelt tribute to her dog, Guy. The incredibly touching video she shared on her new Instagram account, @meghan, contained exclusive photos and footage of her and her family.

Markle captioned the video: “In 2015, I adopted a beagle from a dog rescue in Canada. He had been at a kill shelter in Kentucky and given a few days to live. I swooped him up….and fell in love.”

She ended her message: “Thank you for so many years of unconditional love, my sweet Guy. You filled my life in ways you’ll never know. As ever, Meghan.”

Amid her grief, the surprising sound of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s voices truly melted hearts. Lilibet’s soft voice and Archie’s distinctive American accent were heard in the Instagram video, showcasing their growing personalities and the strong bond within the family.

The post offered a touching reminder of how quickly Archie and Lilibet are growing up and marked the first time their voices were publicly heard since they sang “Happy Birthday” to King Charles III in 2023.

The little prince’s voice was first heard in Prince Harry and Meghan’s Netflix docuseries released in December 2022. The series “Harry & Meghan” explored their journey from royal life to their decision to step back from their roles within the British monarchy.

The Instagram montage also treated viewers to a glimpse of an alternative wedding dress that didn’t make the cut for her magical marriage to Prince Harry back in 2018!

The montage included a never-before-seen photograph of Meghan during a wedding dress fitting alongside her dog, Guy. The Beagle has been a constant companion throughout her life’s most significant events. Though it certainly looked so, the suspicion that Meghan was being fitted for a backup wedding dress remains speculative, as the exact timing of the shot is uncertain. In the touching caption, Markle expressed

“(Guy) was with me at Suits, when I got engaged, (and then married), when I became a mom… he was with me for everything: the quiet, the chaos, the calm, the comfort.”

The image showed Meghan bending down in a playful white gown to greet her beloved Beagle. The dress featured a square neckline, fitted bodice, and long cascading train.

The Duchess looked effortlessly relaxed in the flowing gown, her raven locks styled in loose waves.

However, Meghan’s dress in the picture was incomparable to her actual £100,000 wedding dress, which featured a dramatic flowing train. Designed by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy, the 2018 gown stood out for its distinctive elegance, boasting a refined boat neckline, long sleeves, and a sleek, minimalist silhouette made from luxurious silk cady. Enhancing the overall look was a breathtaking 16-foot silk tulle veil, intricately embroidered with floral designs representing the 53 Commonwealth nations, embodying themes of unity and diversity.

The design received widespread acclaim for its modernity and simplicity, perfectly mirroring Meghan’s style and fresh take on royal fashion. And, we cannot forget to mention the daring white backless Stella McCartney dress the Duchess wore to her reception, considered one of the most daring royal bridal gowns ever.
