Meet Kristian Alfonso's Handsome Husband Of 21 Years Danny Daggenhurst
Mar 28, 2022
“Days of Our Lives” is one of the longest-running scripted television programs in the world and is a leading contender when it comes to the genre of daytime soap operas. It has aired almost every weekday since Nov. 8, 1965, and has helped launch the careers of several of its stars over its almost six decades on television.
The show has been around for so long and has been such a staple in the daytime TV department that many networks have even parodied the series, including the hit sitcom “Friends.” Some of the brightest stars to come from “Days of Our Lives” include Alison Sweeney, Eileen Davidson and Kristian Alfonso.
Alfonso was born on Sept. 5, 1963, in Brockton, Massachusetts. She has shown off a wide array of talents over her many years in the spotlight, as she was a former figure skater and fashion model but now works as an actress. She is best known for her portrayal of the character Hope Williams Brady on “Days of Our Lives.” She first began appearing on the series back in April 1983 and stayed on the program for about 37 years before she sadly announced her departure in 2020.
While Alfonso’s character had plenty of ups and downs in the soap opera, Alfonso herself had led a very beautiful and successful life. On top of that, she has a wonderful relationship with Danny Daggenhurst – her husband of almost 21 years. The two now have an adorable family and are very supportive of one another. Read on to find out more about their heartwarming relationship.
Finding Fame And Success
While many people now know Alfonso for her work as an actress, she first found herself leaning toward a career as a figure skater. She was a gold medal champion at the Junior Olympic Figure Skating Championships during her childhood but unfortunately had to quit the sport at the age of 13 after a tobogganing accident.
Alfonso didn’t stay down for too long as she quickly found herself busy with another career avenue – modeling. By the time she was 15, she had already appeared on the cover of over 30 magazines, including some prestigious fashion magazines such as Vogue.
As the years went by, so did Alfonso’s career, and she decided to try her hand at acting. Her first acting gig was in the TV movie “The Star Maker” in 1981, in which she starred opposite Rock Hudson.
Just a couple of years later, Alfonso’s career really took off as she landed the contract role of Hope Williams Brady on the NBC soap opera “Days of Our Lives.” Alfonso’s character had a very fruitful storyline filled with highs and lows as she was on the series for close to 40 years, although not consecutively. Alfonso even played the role of Hope in an episode of “Friends” that parodied the soap opera.
However, in 2020, Alfonso announced that she was leaving the show. She explained, “At that moment I thought to myself, you know what, it’s time for a change and it was the perfect moment to make that decision… I just thought, you know what, it’s time to really write a new chapter.”

Her Supportive Marriage
In her personal life, Alfonso has been able to celebrate some pretty incredible milestones. She was first married to a man named Simon Macauley from 1987 to 1991, and they had one son together. Her second marriage is still going strong to this day and is with someone that has been there for Alfonso during her times of need.
The actress married Danny Daggenhurst on Oct. 6, 2001. Together, they have two children. While the pair have a beautiful life together, they have an even more beautiful relationship. In late 2020, Alfonso spoke with Glamour about the support she received from her family when she decided to leave “Days of Our Lives.”
The actress said, “My husband had come with me, and when we got into the car, our eyes met, and I looked at him and said, ‘Don’t ask me any questions.’” She added, “My emotions were right there at the surface. I just wanted to take care of what I needed to do. There were so many incredible life moments that took place and happened while I was part of the ‘Days of Our Lives’ and NBC family.”
It’s clear that having Daggenhurst’s support over the years has meant a lot to Alfonso, and she has shared their amazing love for one another online. On Oct. 6, 2021, she uploaded a series of cute photos of herself and Daggenhurst to her Instagram account, looking affectionately at one another and sharing a sweet kiss. She captioned the post: “#dreams do come #true. Happy #20th Anniversary my love. #truelove #kindness Thank you for always being #myrock.”
