‘Madame Eyebrows’ Is An English Bulldog And She Perpetually Looks As If She’s Not In The Mood
Jun 25, 2021
Dogs can have unique markings that set them apart from their siblings and other puppies. These marks may look like typical spots but when they are placed on an animal’s face they can appear to be eyebrows, which makes for a pretty hilarious image. This is the case for one English bulldog, lovingly named “Madame Eyebrows.”
Madame Eyebrows is adorable, but she does also look sort of sad or disinterested most of the time. This is only because of the way her spots look, on the inside she is actually very happy and a joyful dog. The sweet animal was born with her eyebrow spots and has lived with her current family since she was eight weeks old. The family has said that she loves to give kisses and wags her tail a lot to show she is pleased.
Madame Eyebrows reminds us all to not judge a book by its cover, and to get to know the dog before you let their facial expression deter you. Her grumpy face is especially cute when her family dresses her up in frilly outfits that contrast her look of sadness. Madame Eyebrows lives in Germany with her family that adores her.
Even though dogs don’t have eyebrows in the same way that humans do, you can still tell what they are thinking and trying to express from the look on their face. Dogs are still able to move the muscles on the ridge of their forehead and often will use those to signal when they are feeling comfortable or even to show love.

According to Canidae, there are some dogs that commonly have spots that look like eyebrows. “Some breeds — German Shepherds and Rottweilers for instance — do have markings above their eye where we perceive eyebrows should be. But dogs don’t have actual eyebrows; instead, they have a ridge above their eyes that can be manipulated in much the same way we use our eyebrows to express certain emotions,” says the dog food company’s blog.
The blog continues, “Facial expressions can also give us a clue about a dog’s state of mind. However, most canines don’t have easy to see eyebrows, so it can be harder for us to notice movement of the brows. One subtle way your dog shows his love though, is to raise his eyebrows (primarily the left one) and shift his left ear back. The eyes may be a ‘window into the soul’ as they say, but your dog’s eyebrows indicate his affection for you.”
Madame Eyebrows is one expressive dog and her sweet face has gained her thousands of adoring fans. Her Instagram account has over 134,000 followers who all flock to see her recent photos and to leave comments sharing their love. Her page is also dedicated to her younger brother, Willy, another English bulldog.
One of the posts with Willy and Madame Eyebrows reads: “How lovely can a dog be to a puppy. What do you think, when Willy is growing up, will he be like a child for Madame Eyebrows or more like a brother?” Most of the followers agreed, Willy is more like a younger brother for the adorable dog.
