Little Girl Controls 16.3 Hand Horse

Oct 07, 2020

When Sianna was just 3-years-old, she already had a lot of experience with horses at her parent's ranch in Caldwell, Idaho. Consequently, she took an early interest in her father's prized mare, a 16.3 hands horse. A video from 2011 that has gone viral showcases her relationship with the horse. Under her mother's supervision, the two proceed to demonstrate various tricks, including a trot and lope.

Children and animals often form amazing, long-lasting bonds that typically cannot be understood by the common adult. There have long been novels and films produced about these relationships, as they are one of the most precious types of bonds existing.

One video shows a beautiful example of this bond, in which a young girl has created a wonderful friendship with a half hand horse. Growing up among plenty of horses, it did not take long for one horse to catch Sianna's attention. Little Sianna developed a fondness for her father's horse, Cessna, a 6-year-old half hand.

In the video, we see little Sianna and her horse engaging in a variety of activities that a child would not typically be able to do. The first activity involves lunging the horse, an activity involving a horse moving around a person in a circle while the person holds onto the end of the lunge line. The exercise teaches obedience and gives the horse plenty of exercise in.

Sianna holds onto the line as Cessna runs around her in a circle, following the commands given by short tugs on the rope. When Sianna pulls strongly on the rope, Cessna knows that it is time to rest and she awaits new commands.

The next command is typically to continue lunging but in the opposite direction. If this activity is performed correctly, the horse will learn to be more balanced and flexible. While increasing the horse's fitness, this is also an excellent opportunity to observe the horse's gait. While lunging is beneficial to the horse, the rider also learns how to control the horse and is less fearful when riding horseback for the first time.

After this demonstration, Sianna's mother lifts her onto Cessna's saddle, and it is time to ride the horse. It is amazing to see such a young girl completely capable of controlling a horse. Sianna is riding bareback without a proper saddle; however, she has learned how to ride Cessna safely.

Anyone who views the video may have questions as to why Sianna is not wearing a helmet. Her mother has addressed this concern in the video's description by claiming that Sianna had ridden the horse before the video and was just repeating the encounter as a demonstration. Her mother had forgotten to give her a helmet; however, she was nearby at all times.

Regardless of the slight safety concerns, it is incredible to watch little Sianna professionally ride this steed. She begins with a short walk around the stable and then proceeds into a trot. A trot is usually thought of as a diagonal gait in which the horse moves in tune to a silent rhythm. While Cessna is prancing around the stable, a look of pure joy is evident on Sianna's face.

After the trot, Sianna's mother requests a Lope, a variation or horseriding that involves a slow speed of typically 8-12 mph. Thankfully, Sianna did not fall during this demonstration and she seemed to enjoy every second of it. This video truly showcasing just how beautiful the bond between an animal and child can be. The video has gone viral across the internet, as little Sianna and her horse warm the hearts of people everywhere.
