Britain's "The Voice" is often a showcase for incredible talents, but rarely does a child hit the stage and truly impress everyone, including the judges!
An unassuming surprise, 7 year-old Shaney-Lee gave a live audition for the British TV show "The Voice" and immediately impressed everyone. The judges were not expecting to hear such a distinguished voice during the blind audition process, making this performance an especially wonderful one.

Not only does Shaney-Lee have the voice of a country star, he also has the enthusiasm of one—after his performance, he revealed that he has a distinct passion for the country lifestyle, even having ridden to the audition on his own horse! He's also a huge fan of Kenny Rogers, having seen him live two years prior to this audition.
This is a testament to his talent, showing that the youth are truly influenced by the masters that came before them. And, in the case of Shaney-Lee, he may even have something of his own to add to the tradition!
One of the most impressive aspects of this performance, though, is the confidence with which he sings. Were you able to sing that confidently and loudly when you were 7 years-old? If you were anything like us, we're assuming not. This is what makes Shaney-Lee's origin story most impressive, considering that he's a self-taught singer.
Yup! You heard that right.
At just seven-years-old, the boy is a self-taught singer, mainly indulging himself in music while at his grandmother's house and off of YouTube.
One of the most heartwarming things about competitions like "The Voice" is that it gives younger individuals the opportunity to express themselves and show their talents to the world. In the case of Shaney-Lee, his talent will clearly take him beyond the show, showing that his voice is one soon-to-be known everywhere.
