Lisa Marie Presley Paid Tribute To Late Father Elvis In ‘Powerful’ Music Video

Oct 27, 2020

Elvis Presley was loved and known as the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. He was a pivotal figure in the music industry and, to this day, is still recognized as one of the greatest performers of all time. There’s no doubt that Elvis is a true icon and that his memory will carry on forever.

Although Elvis is no longer with us, his musical legacy has continued to live on. With hits such as “Jailhouse Rock,” “Blue Suede Shoes” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” it’s easy to see how the legendary star has continued to inspire other musicians and singers to this day. On top of that, his stage presence was other-worldly, and Elvis was famous for his energetic movements and provocative performance style. This, blended with his unique vocal tone, made Elvis an all-around rock and roll star.

On top of his career, Elvis was survived by his beautiful family. But tragically, his only child Lisa Marie Presley passed away on Jan. 12, 2023. Many of Elvis' fans, peers and family have continued to share his memory with the world to help carry on his long-lasting legacy. Many people in the Presley family have gone on to make a name for themselves while still honoring the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, including his late daughter Lisa Marie and his granddaughter Riley Keough.

Lisa Marie was also a notable figure in the entertainment industry, following in the footsteps of her late father by becoming a singer and songwriter. And back in 2018, Lisa Marie used her musical talents to remember her late father, adding some of his own vocals into the mix.

There’s no denying that Elvis left a lasting legacy on the world, and many people today are still inspired by his music and his story. Fans continue to listen to his music and watch old performances, including his emotional rendition of "Unchained Melody” by The Righteous Brothers. It’s a performance that has a strong hold on fans as it was an incredible final performance from the late star.

Elvis’ story has lived on through newer media as well. The movie “Elvis” was released in 2022, sharing the biographical and dramatic story of the late King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Elvis’ granddaughter Keough shared a heartwarming photograph on Instagram of herself alongside her late mother, Lisa Marie, and Priscilla attending the film’s premiere together in June 2022.

Priscilla also shared how moved she was to attend the premiere of a movie based on her late husband’s life and career. On Facebook, she wrote:

“The story, as we all know, does not have a happy ending. But I think you will understand a little bit more of Elvis’ journey, penned by a director who put his heart and soul and many hours into this film.”

In recent years, family has been everything to the Presley household. And even though they might not have seen each other often, Priscilla, Lisa Marie and Riley clearly held a lot of love for one another.

"Family means a lot to me because I have a big family," Priscilla said. "...Sometimes things go really, really well and sometimes they don't but I think it's important for children to have family that are close, present and to know that they have that support."

Tragically, the family dealt with the loss of Lisa Marie's son Benjamin Keough in 2020, while in 2023, Lisa Marie sadly passed away at the age of 54.

It’s been over 45 years since the passing of the music legend the world knew as Elvis. However, his late daughter Lisa Marie worked hard to keep her father’s legacy alive during her own life. The singer and songwriter released a few albums, including “To Whom It May Concern,” “Now What” and “Storm & Grace.” Unlike her first two albums, which had a very rock-based sound, the last one was more roots-based.

And in 2018, Lisa Marie took to the vocal booth and recorded a song with some old material from her father. She took Elvis’ vocals from the song “Where No One Stands Alone” and added her own flavor to it.

It’s clear that Lisa Marie still turned to her father for motivation. "It was a very powerful and moving experience to sing with my father," Lisa Marie wrote in the album's liner notes, according to USA Today. "The lyrics speak to me and touch my soul. I’m certain that the lyrics spoke to my father in much the same way."

The song was a way for her to feel a connection with her father. Lisa Marie was able to create a classic song with her father's help. When listening to the duet, viewers were instantly able to tell that Lisa Marie was her father's daughter. Their voices mesh so well on the song that you would think they recorded the song in the studio together.

The duet featuring the son and daughter pair was incredibly moving as you could feel how much Lisa Marie poured her heart into it. The accompanying music video also included snapshots of Elvis’ life through photographs and videos.

It was truly a heartwarming moment that every Elvis fan should experience.
