Leonardo DiCaprio Is Supporting A New Environmental Initiative

Leonardo Dicaprio is backing a new environmental project that aims to fight climate change and help save the natural world. Other benefactors like Lauren Powell Jobs and philanthropist Brian Sheth have also joined to support this new initiative which is called Earth Alliance.
According to Variety “the Earth Alliance pools the resources of the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation (founded by DiCaprio), Emerson Collective (founded by Powell Jobs) and Global Wildlife Conservation (chaired by Sheth).”
This new organization will work to protect ecosystems and animal life, it will ensure initiatives to fight climate change are being met, and it will help support renewable energy sources. Not only that but the alliance plans on providing grants and educational opportunities while also funding documentary projects.

Leonardo said in a statement about this new foundation,
“Laurene and Brian are incredible civic leaders who share my passion and understanding of the urgency and scale of the challenges we face. I am proud to partner with them to form this new larger, nimble platform that shares resources and expertise while identifying the best programs to drive real change around the planet.”
Lauren additionally said in the press release,
“All we know and love is threatened by the climate crisis, and each of us must ask ourselves and one another what more we can do to protect the planet we share,” said Powell Jobs adding that “Earth Alliance is part of our answer."
The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation has provided more than $80 million in grants for high impact projects across 50 countries and five oceans since 2010. Earth Alliance said its "strategic programs will be unveiled in the coming months, the team is committed to a thoughtful approach that builds vital collaborations with, and provides funding to, partners doing important work on the ground, simultaneously supporting local communities."
