Kristin Davis, 59, Reveals She's 'Angry' About Comments Regarding Her Age And Body

Dec 14, 2021

“Sex and the City” was a highly popular television series from 1998 until 2004 that inspired women to be themselves and live their lives as candidly as possible. It was a show that centered around relationships, friendship, and personal growth, something that the stars of the show seem to have carried into their personal lives.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis all starred in the TV series and movies and have since gone on to reprise their iconic roles in the latest HBO Max series, “And Just Like That….” While many fans have rejoiced in their return and the revival of such a brilliant series, some people have shared their not-so-pleasant comments online about the famous women and their current ages and appearances.

Almost 20 years have passed since “Sex and the City” came to an end, meaning that the stars of the show are bound to look a bit different now than they did during its run. However, that hasn’t stopped online haters from spreading negative comments about Parker, Nixon, and Davis – and Davis has had enough of it.

In November 2021, Parker opened up about how misogynistic and sexist many of the comments she and the other women received, as they are all in their fifties now. In December 2021, Davis, 59, shared similar thoughts and talked about how angry she is about how many negative comments are thrown her and her co-stars’ way. It’s clear that these women have banded together against anyone who tries to stand in their way or knock them down.

In November 2021, Parker spoke with Vogue about the online hate she, Nixon, and Davis had been receiving leading up to the release of “And Just Like That….” The actress explained:

“It almost feels as if people don’t want us to be perfectly OK with where we are, as if they almost enjoy us being pained by who we are today, whether we choose to age naturally and not look perfect, or whether you do something if that makes you feel better. I know what I look like. I have no choice. What am I going to do about it? Stop aging? Disappear?”

According to the Daily Mail, Davis shared similar thoughts in December that same year. The 59-year-old actress vented her frustration about the negative focus on her and her co-stars’ ages and bodies. “Everyone wants to comment, pro or nay or whatever, on our hair and our faces and our this and our that,” she said. “The level of intensity of it was a shock.” Seeing articles about her “pear-shaped” body made her want to say, “F*** you,” according to The Sunday Times.

Davis talked about how angry it all made her feel, but she didn’t want to live in that emotion for too long. “I feel angry and I don’t want to feel angry all the time, so I don’t look at it, I just know it’s there,” she said. The actress continued, “That’s the problem with social media, right, is that you don’t know what those people are doing. You don’t know anything about them. They’re just hurling bombs at you. It makes me angry.” Fortunately, Davis, Parker, and Nixon have continued to stand by each other’s side through thick and thin.
