King Charles’ Niece, Princess Beatrice, Is Stepmom To A Multiracial Son Spotted Only On Rare Occasions
Apr 09, 2024
One of the most popular members of the royal family is Princess Beatrice of York. Born on quite a special date and time on Aug. 8, 1988, at 8:18 p.m., she is Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s first child and Queen Elizabeth II’s fifth grandchild. Beatrice is currently ninth in line to the throne.
Beatrice has often been described as having a warm and approachable demeanor, with a strong sense of duty to her royal responsibilities. She is known for her involvement in charitable endeavors and has supported various causes, including those related to children's welfare, education, and the arts.
Beatrice has had quite a varied career, dabbling in sales at Selfridges, trying out public relations while working for the Foreign Office, and briefly acting in the film "The Young Victoria.”
Beatrice is often seen attending official royal engagements alongside other members of the royal family, particularly the younger set that includes her sister, Princess Eugenie, and cousins of a similar age, Prince William and Prince Harry.
In recent years, Beatrice has garnered attention for her marriage to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, a British-Italian property developer. The couple tied the knot in July 2020 in a private ceremony held in Windsor amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Overall, Princess Beatrice is regarded as a respected member of the royal family, known for her charitable work, sense of style, and dedication to her duties as a representative of the British monarchy.
However, what is less known about the princess is that her marriage also made her an instant stepmother to a young boy who is gradually beginning to share more of the spotlight that is on the royal family.
One of the most momentous and meaningful moments of Beatrice's life has to be her marriage to Edoardo, who is of royal Italian lineage. Edoardo proposed to Beatrice in 2019 while they were on vacation in Italy.
Beatrice's wedding took place on July 17, 2020, at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor. The wedding was originally scheduled to take place on May 29, 2020, at the Chapel Royal, St James's Palace in London, but had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ceremony was a private affair attended by close family members, including Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. Due to COVID-19 restrictions in place at the time, the guest list was significantly smaller than initially planned, with only around 20 guests in attendance. Among them was Edoardo’s son from a previous relationship named Christopher Woolf “Wolfie” Mapelli Mozzi, who reportedly “played an important role in the wedding.”
The adorable young boy was born in 2016 to Edoardo and his former partner, Dara Huang, who is of Chinese ancestry. Although the couple have separated, Huang expressed joy over her ex-partner’s nuptials, telling Daily Mail:
“I wish the best for Edo and Beatrice and look forward to uniting our families.”
Huang frequently shares photos of her and her son on social media, expressing her affection for him. This includes posts showing her and Wolfie enjoying the beach, a sweet Christmas portrait and a Chinese New Year snap.
Huang also posted touching tributes to Wolfie on his 8th birthday in March 2024, sharing throwback photos as well as more recent photos of her son.
“I love, rediscovering the world every year through your eyes,” one caption read.

Huang works as an architect and designer and divides her time between London and Hong Kong. When she is in Asia, Wolfie stays with his doting father and stepmother Beatrice. A source told People:
“(Edoardo) is easily one of the best dads. He is so involved, he is so committed to this little boy, and Beatrice is already showing that she’s a fantastic step-mummy already. They’ve been on family vacations together already. They are really happy, there’s no better person they could have for a step-mummy.”
The young lad joined the royal family for Christmas for the first time in 2022. Wolfie was seen walking hand-in-hand with Edoardo and Beatrice during the annual royal family walk to church service in Sandringham, dressed in a smart cropped navy blazer. Earlier that year, he also made an appearance at Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant in the summer.
Edoardo and Beatrice welcomed their first child together on Sept. 18, 2021. Beatrice announced the birth on social media and also mentioned Wolfie.
“We are delighted to share that we have named our daughter Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi. We are all doing well and Wolfie is the best big brother to Sienna,” she wrote.
Wolfie joined the royal family for Christmas again in 2023, walking hand-in-hand with Beatrice as they arrived at the Christmas carol concert in Westminster Abbey. To the delight of royal watchers everywhere, Wolfie looked picture-perfect alongside the Wales children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
We can’t wait to see more of Wolfie in the future and follow Princess Beatrice and her family as they continue to grow and flourish!
