'Kick Off': Eminem Is Back With 10-Minute Incredible Freestyle Performance

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from legendary rapper Eminem. While he has always been an incredibly controversial artist, it can’t be overstated that he is truly just that: an artist. Eminem recently made major waves with fans when he delivered a phenomenal 10-minute ‘Kick Off’ freestyle. True to his roots and his 8-mile style, Eminem chose to film the freestyle in his old stomping grounds of Detroit.

Eminem dropped the Kick Off freestyle through social media and it immediately went ablaze throughout the world. It currently has been viewed over a million times on YouTube and fans have been left desperate for more from the former Slim Shady. While Eminem may have been gone for a while, he certainly hasn’t been forgotten. His fan base runs deep, deeper than most rappers could ever dream of.

His lyrics pushed boundaries but established die-hard fans due to the realness of the lyrics. People related to Eminem like they rarely relate to a music artist. From troubled teens to struggling adults, Eminem’s raw lyrics resonate deep.

Eminem said his new freestyle rap was inspired by the satire film Bodied that focuses on the world of battle rap. When his new movie Bodied was set to release, he generously booked out the entire cinema so anyone could come and watch it for free.

The freestyle rap launches with some pretty aggressive lyrics about how rap battles aren’t meant to be simply won. Instead, the goal is to completely obliterate the opponent and have the fans strongly backing your lyrics.

The world of freestyle and rap battle has always been something that Eminem made a core of his career. After decades of success, Eminem’s latest Kick Off freestyle shows that he certainly hasn’t lost his edge in the world of rap battle. He also proved that he hasn’t strayed from his Detroit roots and certainly doesn’t plan to do so.

Eminem said that he felt inspired and nostalgic after the release of Bodied. He decided to return to his old stomping grounds in Detroit and launch the freestyle. In true Eminem form, nothing was off limits.

He didn’t shy away from making aggressive references centralized around current events. He brought up Ariana Grande's Manchester concert and touched on the issue of suicide bombings becoming more prevalent.

 He also touched on major names ranging from Reese Witherspoon to Justin Bieber, where he calls Bieber a schoolboy that turned into a drug dealer.
