Kelly Osbourne Speaks Out On Plastic Surgery Speculations About Her Facial Features
Sep 11, 2023
Celebrity body transformations have always been a controversial topic among fans. Many believe that stars go under the knife and then hide that detail when discussing their weight loss or any other bodily change. For TV star Kelly Osbourne, fans believed that the slimmer outline of her face resulted from a plastic surgery procedure.
However, Kelly decided to put the claims to rest on Sept. 4, 2023, when she clamped down on the rumors and admonished fans to be less critical. Over the years, Kelly, the daughter of rock icon Ozzy Osbourne and TV star Sharon Osbourne, publicly struggled with her diet and was subject to body image scrutiny.
Being a celebrity kid, Kelly started her entertainment career on her family's reality TV show, "The Osbournes," which premiered in 2002. The MTV show started when Kelly was 17 and ended in 2005. She basically grew up in the spotlight, thereby facing public scrutiny and sometimes the scathing opinions of internet trolls.
In 2020, the star decried how she was "called fat and ugly in the press almost my entire life" during an interview with Shape. She struggled with weight issues for years and, in 2020, decided to switch things up. Kelly began her transformation journey and lost 85 pounds during the process.
During an episode of "Hollywood Raw with Dax Holt and Adam Glyn," she revealed how she underwent gastric sleeve surgery. The star acknowledged that weight loss went beyond the physical appearance as it also had a lot to do with one's mental state.
On the “Hollywood Raw” podcast the star noted that she had to fix her mindset about happiness beyond attaining weight loss. Through the process of getting herself on track with all she desired, Kelly kept it real with the public. The star, who became sober amid her health pact, noted in April 2021 that she relapsed. Per People, Kelly informed her fans that although it was hard for her to discuss, she experienced some setbacks but got back on track.
Since then, the "Fashion Police" alum has continued to keep up with a healthy lifestyle. She had also continued to witness more positive changes. One of these was the announcement of her baby's birth in November 2022. Kelly welcomed her son Sidney with Slipknot band member Sid Wilson. Speaking to Live Fox Now about her son's birth, the star gushed:
"I thought I knew what happiness was back then, but then I had a baby, and now I know what happiness is."
While Kelly kept recording these wins, she was not free of public scrutiny. In May 2023, she shared some snaps on social media showing off her sculpted facial features. Many were stunned by her looks, and they shared their opinions. The reaction to seeing a much slimmer Kelly was mixed. While some praised her for her looks, others thought she got too much work done.
During her exclusive talk with the Daily Mail, alongside her mom, Sharon, Kelly faced the speculations head-on and cleared the air. She began:
"I've never had any procedure like plastic surgery," she said. "There are things that I definitely want to do when I get older, but I'm too scared aren't I?"

Sharon wittingly cut in at this point, describing Kelly as a "coward." This was to affirm her daughter's reluctance to go under the knife. Kelly continued:
"I've done Botox, that's it. It's weird, because now that I've lost weight, everybody is criticizing and trying to figure out what it is that I've done, and I really just lost weight. It's just the shape of my face!"
The star relayed that "everyone" knew she underwent weight loss surgery and it was "the best decision I've ever made." Kelly mentioned that there was a notion that indicated sentiments like "Well you didn't do it the right way." She clamped down on this, noting that there was no right way. Kelly continued:
"The road to happiness is different for everybody, and I think that instead of picking apart the journey, they should just be happy that you reached your destination."
Sharon also took the moment to shut down the criticism she faced for using Ozempic in her weight loss journey. The "X Factor" alum noted that people felt it was "a way of cheating, because you didn't work out for three hours a day, or you don't have some brilliant new trainer so you're cheating." The star mom then reaffirmed that it was not "cheating."
The TV star relayed that it was rather a method adopted to lose weight, and there was no need for the big deal being made out of it. Sharon lost over 30 lbs after using the medication for a period of four months. Sharon went on to advise teenagers against using Ozempioc as she noted that adults would handle it better.
Isn't it commendable to see Kelly Osbourne embrace her body transformation while clamping down on the trolls? What are your thoughts on her and Sharon's approach to body transformation methods? Let us know, and be sure to pass this on to other fans of the Osbournes.
