Dec 23, 2022

Kelly Clarkson first became a household name in 2002 following her win on the hit competition series “American Idol.” Since then, the singer has gone on to sell millions of copies of her albums and tour across the world. Some of her most notable hits include “Since U Been Gone,” “My Life Would Suck Without You,” and “Because Of You.” With an incredible vocal tone and range, Clarkson has easily become one of the best and most recognizable singers in the world.

When Clarkson first entered the music industry, she had a very girl-next-door look with a bit of an edge. Like most superstars, her look and style changed as the years progressed, and Clarkson discovered more sides of herself. She even switched up the genre of music she released during the span of her career.

Along with being a highly accomplished singer, Clarkson has also appeared in a variety of films and TV shows and has gone on to become one of the most beloved women in the entertainment industry due to her hilarious personality and charming wit. She has gone on to become a judge for another singing competition series called “The Voice,” and is even the host of her own talk show, “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”

On her talk show, Clarkson has covered a litany of songs. During the holiday season, she has made sure to give her fans exactly what they want – endless performances of Christmas classics. In December 2022, Clarkson performed a duet to a song from the 1954 film “White Christmas.”

Clarkson is no stranger to putting on a great performance and singing a fantastic holiday tune. Her first holiday album, “Wrapped in Red,” was released in October 2013. It was full of classic Christmas songs as well as plenty of original songs, including the hit “Underneath the Tree.” The album also featured a duet with country singer Ronnie Dunn and a beautiful rendition of “Silent Night” alongside country artists Reba McEntire and Trisha Yearwood.

In September 2021, Clarkson released “Christmas Isn’t Canceled (Just You),” the lead single off her second holiday album titled “When Christmas Comes Around…” TODAY reported that Clarkson had been teasing the album since earlier that month, with her fans excitedly counting down the days to receiving their early Christmas present.

The album was released in October 2021, finally giving fans the music they had been waiting for. Clarkson shared a sweet message with her fans on Instagram about what the project meant to her. “‘When Christmas Comes Around…’ captures how different the holidays can be for all of us during the varying stages of our lives, and I hope everyone can find something on the record they relate to,” she said. “Hopefully the happier songs, but if not, hey … you’re not alone!”

Music fans were thrilled to listen to Clarkson team up with pop star Ariana Grande for the song “Santa, Can’t You Hear Me.” The duet perfectly showcased both singers’ voices as Clarkson and Grande took turns singing lines in the verses before teaming up to take on the melodic chorus. The sweetness of Grande’s voice mixed with the slight raspiness of Clarkson’s complemented each other throughout the fun track.

On “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” Clarkson performs outstanding renditions of songs from all genres. Back in December 2020, the singer covered a Dolly Parton Christmas classic, “Hard Candy Christmas,” from the 1984 holiday album “Once Upon a Christmas.” Clarkson charmed audiences with her warmth and presence during challenging times.

And in December 2022, Clarkson wowed her fans once again with another Christmas tune. Joined by her show’s band vocalist, Jessi Collins, Clarkson performed the song “Sisters” from the 1954 musical film “White Christmas.” The movie featured Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen, with songs written and composed by Irving Berlin.

During their rendition, Clarkson and Collins were dressed very similarly to the way the actresses in the film were dressed, wearing blue outfits while carrying blue feathery fans. Their voices harmonized beautifully while they executed the simple yet enjoyable choreography.

About halfway through their performance, a pair of men joined in, taking over the dance routine while Clarkson and Collins continued to sing flawlessly together. The performance ended with the men taking Clarkson and Collins’ hands and kneeling beside them. Of course, the women were sure to belt the last note in perfect harmony, earning a loud round of applause from the studio audience.

Fans sounded off in the comments, praising Clarkson and Collins for a job well done. One person commented, “Kelly and Jessi harmonize like family.” Another added, “Kelly has such a classic voice.... timeless! I can't get over it. And I love Jessi's voice. Especially with Kelly's – it's magic.”

Another person summed it up well, saying, “Their voices blend so well!! Vocals ‘SISTERS’ for real!”
