Kelly Clarkson And Dwayne Johnson Team Up For Heartwarming Loretta Lynn Duet

Tributes have poured out following the passing of the late country music icon Loretta Lynn. She died on Oct. 4, 2022. In an effort to honor the music legend, Kelly Clarkson recruited a very special guest at “The Kelly Clarkson Show” to pay tribute to the singer who popularized hits like "You Ain't Woman Enough (To Take My Man),” "Don't Come Home A Drinkin' (With Lovin' on Your Mind),” "One's on the Way” and "Coal Miner's Daughter.”
Lynn was considered a pillar of country music in the United States. According to the Associated Press, she died peacefully in her sleep at her ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.
“Our precious mom, Loretta Lynn, passed away peacefully this morning, October 4th, in her sleep at home in her beloved ranch in Hurricane Mills,” the family said in a statement. They asked for privacy as they grieved and said a memorial would be announced later,” the Lynn Family said in a statement at the time.
Her journey in music career was one of the most memorable origin stories of music icons as she managed to rise from the rubble being an actual “Coal Miner’s Daughter.” Way before launching her illustrious music career, Lynn already had the backing of her loving family, composed of her four children at the time.
Launching in the early 1960s, Lynn was one of the many women at the time who paved the way for more female artists both in the country genre and in the music industry in general.
It's not surprising to see many stars have since paid tribute to the late singer.

As a singer and songwriter, Loretta Lynn inspired many people to follow her path toward a career in country music and also gave fans ample amounts of amazing songs and records.
Lynn was born on Apr. 14, 1932, in Butcher Hollow, Kentucky. She was the daughter of a coal miner and farmer Ted Webb and his wife, Clara. She grew up in a big family and was quick to make a family of her own, finding love at the young age of 15. Her relationship with Oliver Vanetta Lynn – also known as Doolittle, Doo, or Mooney – served as the inspiration for many of her songs.
Her most popular hit was “Coal Miner’s Daughter” as it was The latter was also the name of a 1980 biographical film about Lynn from her early life in a poor family, to getting married very young, to becoming a world-renowned country music star. Lynn went on to receive endless awards and accolades for her trailblazing ways in the entertainment industry, specifically as a female country music singer and songwriter. In fact, she was the most-awarded female country recording artist.
Lynn won awards from the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music. She was nominated for 18 Grammy Awards throughout her career and took home three. Lynn was considered the most awarded female country artist of all time. She recorded 24 No. 1 hit singles and saw 11 of her albums also appear at No. 1.
Through the years, Lynn had many friends in the music industry, mostly in the same genre. Aside from this, Lynn had also inspired a generation of female country artists, including “American Idol” Season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson, who took the time to honor her in her talk show “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”

Shortly after her passing, country music artists were mourning and had been paying their respective tributes and heartfelt messages to the star.
Dolly Parton, another country music legend, recalled how she and her “sister” bonded: “We’ve been like sisters all the years we’ve been in Nashville and she was a wonderful human being, wonderful talent, had millions of fans, and I’m one of them.”
GRAMMY Award-winning artist Miranda Lambert also paid homage to the late icon: “I’m so heartbroken to hear about Loretta’s passing. She was so kind to me, and she blazed so many trails for all of us girls in country music. Thank you for all the songs. Miss you. Fly high.”
“I always did, and I always will love Loretta. She was always so nice to me. I sure appreciate her paving the rough and rocky road for all us girl singers,” Reba McEntire said in her own tribute.
Kelly Clarkson, who has threaded between pop music and country for quite some time, gave Lynn a touching and fun tribute on her own show – “The Kelly Clarkson Show.” Clarkson recruited a very special guest, “Black Adam” star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, for the highly-awaited musical segment “Kellyoke.”
Everyone was excited when The Rock, along with Clarkson, busted out “Don't Come Home A Drinkin' (With Lovin' on Your Mind).” The duo’s playful banter was shown throughout the performance while grooving to the country tunes playing in the background.
Clarkson’s tribute was among the last few tributes to the late Loretta Lynn, who was buried beside her husband, Doo, at their Hurricane Mills Ranch in Tennessee.
