Kathie Lee Gifford's Daughter Looks Just Like Her In Photo As She Marks Momentous Celebration
Aug 04, 2023
Kathie Lee Gifford is one of the most beloved television stars in the country, with over three decades of work on TV. The French-American is also an actress, singer, and author. Kathie's work in the arts started with her joining a folk group in high school, after which she studied drama and music at Oral Roberts University.
The actress' stint as a regular face on TV began when she became Tom Kennedy's singer on "Name That Tune," where contestants were required to correctly state the song she sang a short tune to. Before becoming a TV host, Kathie got some experience working for ABC as a substitute anchor and correspondent on "Good Morning America."
When Kathie replaced Ann Abernathy as co-host on “The Morning Show" in 1985, she was well-versed in her job. The show was rebranded as "Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee" in 1988 and became a national TV broadcast making Kathie a household name. Alongside her co-host, Regis Philbin, the singer enjoyed much goodwill and earned eight consecutive Emmy nominations until 2000, when she left the network.
Kathie became a co-host with Hoda Kotb on NBC's Today in 2008, and ratings for the show shot up quickly. Viewers enjoyed watching Kathie talk about different subjects with passion and humor, which made the show educational and entertaining at the same time. The TV host had a memorable stay on the show, but in 2019, she announced her exit from “Today” and left in April of the same year.
Meanwhile, fans still adore her years after she left hosting TV shows. When her daughter, Cassidy Gifford, celebrated her 30th birthday, Kathie posted a photo of both of them on her Instagram on Aug. 2, 2023, and fans cooed over how adorable and alike they looked.
Kathie has often considered herself blessed in many areas, including her family and work. The actress' first marriage to Paul Johnson in 1976 seemed to be the ideal marriage and was even touted on the front covers of magazines as the perfect example of marriage. However, the couple called it quits six years later.
Kathie found love in her second marriage with sports commentator Frank Gifford, and together, they enjoyed a beautiful marriage despite Frank being 23 years older than her. The "Then Came You" actress had two children with Frank, Cody Gifford and Cassidy. Unfortunately, Frank died in 2015 from natural causes at the age of 84. His death broke Kathie and their children, but they pulled through together. Two years after Frank passed, Kathie co-wrote and released a song dedicated to her late husband titled "He Saw Jesus."
The TV host kept herself busy with work after Frank's passing. Since leaving Today, she turned her interests toward movie making and became an actress, producer, and director. One of her goals is to represent widows and those who have lost their loved ones through her movies, as she considers those to be an untapped segment in Hollywood. So far, Kathie has been doing great work and has been awarded her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The mom of two also received additions to her family when her children married and made her a grandmother of two. Fondly called Bubbe, which is Jewish for grandmother or dearest one, Kathie gets so much joy whenever she spends time with her grandsons, Frankie and Finn. The happy movie producer is always excited to be around the little ones. Moreover, she found love again with a businessman, Randy Cronk, and sources claimed that they are smitten with each other.
