JFK's Granddaughter Tatiana Schlossberg and Her Partner Resembled Him And Jacqueline At Their Wedding
Aug 04, 2021
On September 9, 2017, which is just three days before John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline's wedding anniversary, the youngest granddaughter of the former president, Tatiana Schlossberg, married her boyfriend George Moran. The wedding took place at the Kennedy family's 377-acre Red Gate Farm in Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts.
The location holds a lot of memories for the family, particularly because of John F. Kennedy Jr’s tragic death in a plane crash, along with his wife Carolyn and her sister Lauren Bessette, back in 1999 while they were traveling to the island for their cousin Rory's wedding at the same estate.
Tatiana has worked as a reporter for the New York Times covering climate change and has also written a book titled "Inconspicuous Consumption: The Environmental Impact You Don't Know You Have." Her new husband, Moran, was in his fourth year of medical school at Columbia University at the time of their wedding. The happy couple met while they were both students at Yale University.
The bride is the daughter of Caroline Kennedy who married Edwin Schlossberg in 1986. Tatiana and her sister, Rose, and brother, Jack, are the only grandchildren of President Kennedy. Rose has her own online comedy series called “End Times Girls Club,” while Jack has paddle boarded around Manhattan in the past and has a very funny Instagram presence.
The wedding photos, which were taken by Elizabeth Cecil, show both the elegant and silly side of the couple. In one picture, Tatiana points her finger at the camera as a joke and laughs while Moran wears a wide smile across his face. Read on to learn more about the beautiful wedding and how it compares to that of Tatiana’s grandparents.
Tatiana made her first big public appearance back in 2013 when she delivered a speech at her grandfather's memorial in England. She began, “We have come here today to honor his memory- as this monument does so well- but today is a difficult day because it is a reminder of a moment of profound sadness for my family, for America and for the world.”
Tatiana continued, “For me, my grandfather lives in my imagination, in his words, and in the lessons he has left with us. Throughout my life, I have been able to connect with him through the study of history, both by studying his life and by studying the eras and patterns that fascinated him.”
“Of all the memorials to my grandfather, which pay tribute to his life and work all around the world, this one is very special to our family because it was during his time in England as a young man that my grandfather decided to study political leadership and pursue a life in public service,” the President’s granddaughter added.
Tatiana finished her speech about John F. Kennedy, saying, “As a lover of history- particularly British history- I know that my grandfather would be both proud and humbled to see that his work on behalf of peace and liberty for all people is remembered in the same place where the rule of law was made manifest nearly 800 years ago.” The last part of Tatiana’s statement is referring to the widely accepted belief that the Magna Carta was signed in Runnymede.

Photos from Tatiana’s wedding were shared by President Kennedy’s organization’s Facebook page. They captioned the pictures: “Congratulations to President Kennedy’s granddaughter, Tatiana Schlossberg, and George Moran who were married over the weekend.”
The couple exchanged their vows under the supervision of Deval L. Patrick, the former governor of Massachusetts. Tatiana chose a classic look, wearing a white sleeveless gown with a lace bodice and a beautiful long train. She paired the gorgeous dress with pearl earrings, a veil that was also made of lace that flowed down from her hair and a simple, but timeless, bouquet of white flowers.
The gown was reminiscent of the one worn by Tatiana's mother, Caroline Kennedy at her wedding in 1986. Caroline’s dress also had a high neckline and lace details on the bodice. Both mother and daughter looked radiant and thrilled on their wedding days.
According to the John. F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, on her wedding day Jacqueline, “wore a dress of ivory tissue silk, with a portrait neckline, fitted bodice, and a bouffant skirt embellished with bands of more than fifty yards of flounces. Her rose point lace veil, worn first by her grandmother Lee, was draped from a tiara of lace and orange blossoms. Jacqueline wore a choker of pearls and a diamond bracelet that was a gift from the groom. The bride’s bouquet was of pink and white spray orchids and gardenias.”
From the above description, we can draw similarities between Tatiana’s wedding look and her grandmother’s. However, the bride looked like her mother, Caroline, most of all on her special day.
