Intruder Breaks Into Home – As Owners Arrive Back Home It Was Squeaky Clean
Oct 09, 2020
When a then 44-year-old Nate Roman and his then five-year-old son got back home to their Marlborough, Massachusetts home one day in 2019, they thought it would be regular business, but it wasn’t. Roman’s son realized their back door was open, and they knew somebody must have robbed them.
However, upon entering the house with bated breath, they found the exact opposite. All the belongings were intact. The intruder had done an overhaul, leaving the property sparkling clean. However, the invader left out of the kitchen. How weird!

The intruder in question accessed all the rooms in the house, straightened the beds, and arranged his son’s messy room. Although he felt scared knowing someone was in his place, Roman told CNN that he couldn’t fathom how a trespasser also scrubbed the shower and cleaned the toilets. Surprisingly, this reverse robber went ahead and attached an origami rose on the toilet paper roll.
Dumbfounded, Roman was afraid that someone could access his abode and do so much that he doubted how safe it was for his young son.
As a concerned dad, Roman decided to call the police over the issue. Although it felt like a sweet surprise, he knew it might not have meant well. What if the intruders come back now that they left the back door open? Do you think they would really go back to clean up the kitchen as well? Or what message were these intruders sending by leaving the kitchen unattended?

For a while, the then 44-year-old dad thought that probably some professional cleaners had missed the right address. Maybe that is why they left behind an origami rose. However, these reverse robbers did not lock the back door still got him more confused. Roman took to Facebook and shared this weird experience.
Upon narrating his ordeal, the police took up Roman’s case as burglary and promised to investigate. They advised the house occupants to vacate until they could get to the scene. The house smelled of freshness and nothing seemed to have been stolen. Days later, Roman says that he has not missed anything in the house.
However, he is not going to risk allowing these uninvited guests to gain access to his home. He has changed the lock systems to all his rooms. Asked by Inside Edition, Roman said that he has security cameras. However, for them to respond, they must be activated by an alarm, which was not on that day.
As the police continue with their investigations, Roman still doesn’t know how to think of the whole incidence. He can only play his cards well without trusting too much. Such expressions are rare to find, especially from people of this nature. Sadly, he has to clean up his kitchen by himself. In other exciting news, his son’s room is back to its initial condition, stuffed with toys and animals.
So, Was It a Break-in or Not?
When leaving the house, Roman and his son never expected a bizarre surprise. In his Facebook post, Roman admits that he may have left his back door unlocked because these "guests" didn’t break into the house. It may never be easy to tell what the purpose of the visit was without the video.
If they intended to vacuum the carpets, scrub the washrooms, and leave behind an origami rose, was the kitchen not part of the job? It might remain a puzzle for Roman, who, until now, remains confused.
